Hi Pandora, i was very surprised when i first heard this the other day and it's safe to say Delain are back with a bang. Brilliant video, gorgeous new lead singer Diana, looks like she has filled Charlott's shoes perfectly, not an easy thing to do, the new album should be brilliant, hi from Dublin Ireland gorgeous ❤, ps, i had this on loop when i first heard it 😉

Hey Pandora ! The song is really god and Delain fans were waiting for this because it's the first of a "New Era" : Back in Feb. 2021 Delain announced its split. But Martijn (the creator and mastermind of the band) later made some clarifications : it was a "reboot" rather than a split. Every musician parted away from each other but Martijn kept the name and went backj to how it had all started : a project. He started writing new songs, new music, hired musician that weren't that new since among them were Ronald Landa and Sander Zoer which had been part of delain's original line-up and left the band in 2009 (Ronald) and 2014 (Sander). Earlier in 2022 they published part of a new song and introduced the new line-up but they kept the lead singer'(s name secret and her voice couldn't be heard on that piece of music so the fans were really eager to hear that new song, hear the new singer's voice, learn her name see her face. I myself have been a fan since the early days of the band, since I saw them in 2007, opening for Within Temptation. I must say I really like this new song and the new singer and I can't wait to hear more. These last monthes, the band kep saying Delain was going "back to its roots". It wasn't a lie since, from I could hear in that song, they're back to the sound they had in the first album, Lucidity.

YES!!! *Silence for 5 seconds* Sorry,but could you hear my excitement? As you might have remembered,i have suggested Delain on a few occasions. And the sad backstory from this pandemic,is that Martijn lost all his members as they wanted to go separate ways music-wise. It was very sad,as they had a great singer in Charlotte Wessels (still love her,almost on the level of Floor.....almost) And some amazing intrumentalists all over the place. To a point where i called Delain the "little sister" of bands like Within Temptation,Nightwish and bands alike. No wonder Napalm Records wanted to sign them. It was a gutting period just after they all went separate ways,and like with so many bands losing theyr lead vocalist (plus other members),my mind couldnt stop thinking: "Will Delain ever raise again? And if so,will they ever sound somewhat the same?". Alot of questions that bothered me..... Because with so many original vocalists,they have such a unique voice you always see as a part of the band. I think Diana Leah is the first vocalist i have heard since Brian Johnson came in as AC/DCs new vocalist,that sounds just like or even better then the original vocalist. Diana sounds EXACTLY like Charlotte in especially the harmonic vocals,and she hits notes in Delain i never think i heard Charlotte hit. She is receiving tons of love after just this one song,wich speaks volume! I think we might see a Delain that becomes even better then they were. I see this in Martijn being a genius in bringing in 2 extra male vocalists,wich quickly makes me think of bands like Amaranthe and Temperance to mention a couple. Delain might crawl even higher on my favourite bands list now😍One more round of applause for the genius Martijn Westerholt,for putting this new version of Delain together in record time! 👏👏👏

Those instrumentalists who left with Charlotte were in fact only a touring line-up, they almost did not participate in the creation of songs. According to Martijn, Delain's creative core consisted of 3 people: Him, Charlotte and guitarist Guus Eikens, who worked on songs in the studio but did not perform live. So 2/3 of this core is still in the band, and the lyrics for Delain instead of Charlotte are now written by Martijn's wife, Robin La Joy, who also works with him in the Eye of Melian project.

I think Napalm records are fairly good about blocking, could be wrong however. I discovered Delain just before they dissolved with Charlotte Wessels. This new version are great although I think Diana Leah sounds a lot like Charlotte in some parts, not a bad thing at all. I think I will be following their progress closely. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺

Oh, is that a new song with a new singer ? Whats her name ? I only heared a while ago that Charlotte Wessels left them. Sounds a bit more heavy or more metal than the old stuff i now, but i like it. Also i'm normally not a fan of harsh vocals, but they just used it in the correct small doses here to not annoy me.
