Delaware Beach Fishing (Abandoned Port Mahon)

Today I decided to head out to a nearby beach and do some beach fishing, Its a pretty rocky beach but the water can be accessed if you climb over the wall of rocks between you and the bay. Delaware beach fishing can be hit or miss, you can either get lucky and catch a ton or perch/striper or end up like I did and catch nothing but cat fish. Port mahon aka little landing used to be a popular town in the 1800's now it just has abandoned docks and piers.

We used to fish there off the pier all the time, you never know what you would pull in, sand sharks, stripers, horseshoe crabs, catfish. every stuff!

Interesting that theres catfish in that water i always thought it was pretty damn salty. Only ever caught perch and small rockfish there but its a great spot to avoid the crowds and see some wildlife

They got these cats that were released into these water now they are problem to natural habitats I ate one but at different area in close bye My cat was different style never caught this type

Monster stripers in April. Company i work for docks a barge at that dock.

Used to fill coolers with large weakfish not far out of mahon. Deep fishing history around there.

White catfish , member of the bullhead family, can get a lot of small migratory fish there in the summer , spot croaker , bluefish weakfish etc
