He was just a boy in the beginning, an immature typical teenage boy. He didn't understand love or know what love is. Veronica was the shiny new toy. Now in season 4, Archie has gone through so much, he's matured, he's had the shiny new toy and other girls, he's known pain and suffering when his father passed away, he's known compassion and social responsibility when he started the gym to help impoverished kids of his town, he's grown into a man and now for the first time he's realizing what true love is and that's with Betty. The girl he always loved but never realized it until something romantic happened between them, until he became a man enough to understand what love is.

I always loved the way they placed KJ and Lili in a scene. They are always able to look at one another. Like in the booth at Pops, they are placed opposite one another to allow for easy eye contact, same can be said when they see each other through the windows. In some scenes they are next to one another but they always make eye contact. Archie and Betty speak to each other with their eyes. It's a form of communication that only they have in the group. Their texting scenes are also amazing. The slow burn between these two characters are amazing and I hope that they are endgame. #Barchie

I believe that Varchie and Bughead truly love each other, but it doesn't compare to Barchie at all. I mean no disrespect to both the seperate tandems especially considering how big it is, but it just looks that way to me. They may be passionate, they may be cute, they may be intimate - but they don't make as much sense as Barchie does. Watching this video, it just made me realize how Barchie never truly disappeared. It was always there, just sadly overshadowed. And it showed - through their meaningful glances, profound care, and undying connection. The series actually did a good job with this slow burn romance - and although we may not have enough to show how Betty actually developed her feelings for Archie in the first place, we did get to see how it grew and evolved into something so much more than just attraction. In the scene where Barchie was laying down on the bunker holding hands and repeatedly telling themselves how much they love their current partners and still saying the line "But this is nice, right?" is so representative for me. It gets a lot of hate but to me, it wasn't a scene that desperately showed how much they wanted to cheat although that is highly suggested. On a deeper note, that little scene showed how powerful their emotions are because despite knowing how deep their love goes for their partners as of now, they can't ignore the fact that if they were together, it would be something 'nice' - and that showed how they were finally, finally fully acknowledging their feelings for one another. One of the main reasons as far as I can see as to why Betty is so against their relationship as of now is because she doesn't feel safe with Archie anymore - something that was given so much emphasis on season one. With her feelings finally reaching out and being acknowledged, she knows to herself the lengths she maybe willing to go through just for their chance and that isn't something safe. He makes her feel things - maybe even more than Jughead does - that brings her so high up that she couldn't take it anymore and that isn't safe. Nothing about what she has with Archie is safe anymore and she secretly loves it and she knows it and that's why it had to end (at least for now), especially considering that they are still best friends. Barchie is such a great ship to sail on because it is probably the most non-toxic relationship in the whole series. And when we say non-toxic, we mean healthy, and when we say healthy, we mean ideal. And that is all I have to say for that. If somehow Barchie doesn't become endgame even though they're already the definition of the word, it probably has something to do with how large the seperate ships of Bughead and Varchie is along with the fact that it's what's familiar. And as well as the fact that in real life, Lili and Cole are actually together which gives the audience the impression of what's seen rolling in the cameras to be much more genuine. Well, this is how it all seems to me. No disrespect. I don't usually comment on videos, but I just had to make an exception.

Okay I’ve loved barchie ever since I started watching riverdale. Every single episode they share eye contact scenes, and they even get really special scenes together. They’re building Barchie up so don’t give up on them. They belong together. They’re childhood best friends and they have more chemistry than any other ship on the show. Whenever Archie proposed to betty she said no because they were too young. Then betty said “Oh little Archie were too young ask me when were 18 and I’ll say yes.” They’re graduating in the first episode of season 5. That means they’re 18. That kiss in the musical episode was special. Archie was ready to be with betty but betty wasn’t ready. They love each other. Archie wrote a song for betty. Veronica and Archie will break up soon. Veronica is literally one of the best characters in this show, it’s not her fault that Archie likes her, Betty got with jughead and Archie was single, so they dated each other, let’s not forget that Veronica is the biggest barchie supporter and she’s been there for them from the beginning. ARCHIE is the one who kissed her not the opposite. He started it, you can’t hate Veronica for no reason, betty moved on and got together with jug, so that leaves Archie alone he got with Veronica. Veronica will do anything for her friends and she never hurt them or get between them. I mean look at season four when they kissed, Veronica was ok with it cuz it’s an act. Even tho they still had feelings for each other, Betty started it all. She got a boyfriend and forgot about dating Archie. Also in season five when Archie kissed Betty, Veronica LITERALLY said that they don’t wanna ruin Betty and break her and jughead, NOW THATS A GOOD FRIEND idk why people hate her, she did everything for Archie, supported him, gave him money, bailed him out of jail, and much more that literally no one gave except Veronica. She’s one of the best characters and will always be. She didn’t wanna break bughead and destroy her best friend. Once again idk why y’all hate her, get well soon❤️

I ship them on some level because it shows that just because someone turns you down (just like Archie did to Betty in season one), it doesn't always mean that they legitimately aren't into you on some level. People don't always take actions that align with their feelings. People are weird. For example, Betty and Archie kiss soon after Archie turns her down and then Archie is jealous of Bughead soon and annoyed by Veronica soon after he turned down Betty. It shows you how people often don't make sense and have trouble expressing how they feel. Then Archie ends up having stronger feelings for Betty than he does for Veronica. Logically that doesn't make sense, but often people do this stuff to protect themselves emotionally and because of their own mental and emotional hang ups. This stuff really does happen in real life. I have a hard time relating to this kind of mentality because I have the emotional ability to be honest and direct with people if I am into them, but I found out recently that a lot of people do the illogical stuff that Archie does.

The whole show revolved around Jason's death, then Black Hood, then GG and then like anything after that. Kevin clearly helped Betty so many times and Betty's love for Archie caused Kevin to go find validation somewhere else. Veronica kept acting out to keep Archie close. But Betty just gets away with everything because of Polly's pregnancy, her dad psycho ways and her mom's controlling streak. In all honesty Betty and Archie need to admit their feelings for each other because they are leading Jughead and Veronica on. Veronica and Jughead are always the usual suspects to issues because of the histories of their families. Archie just needs to own up for Betty and Betty needs to own up to it. Jughead and Veronica will be okay. It's just its getting slutty for Betty and Archie to cheat on Veronica and Jughead. Veronica and Jughead deserve better

I think betty made it clear to archie in s1 that she love's Archie. They've been best friends, but archie rejected her, I kinda understand Him, but sometimes the decision we make can affect our future, It's either we feel regret or thankful so we have to think carefully, But of course two hearts broken that day. And now, betty finally found Jughead - And then Archiee is unstable, He loved veronica and s4 happened! Honestly, I'm lost! Hahaahhaa! -they keep missing on each other, but they can't confront their feelings. Like LOVE ROSIE in the MOVIE.

You know, what's interesting to me is that scene in the bunker when Betty keeps saying "I love Jughead" and each time Archie hesitates before he says "and I love Veronica." Even more than that, its ALWAYS "I love Veronica, BUT" to Betty. Compare that to season one when Archie is literally rejecting Betty and she asks "do you love me Archie, or even like me" and he responds NO HESITATION with "of course I love you Betty", obviously followed by another 'but.' So he says 'I love you but' when rejecting Betty with no hesitation when he's rejecting her, but he's literally dating Veronica and says TO BETTY "I love Veronica, but" WITH hesitation. Just thought that was an interesting parallel

I think in season 1 he rejected her because she was to familiar and safe and that’s not what he wanted. That’s why he first chose Veronica. But now with his father’s death he needed that familiar safety that Betty provides. That is why they are endgame.
