57:13 one thing I love about Abel's attention to detail is the same way he slowly approaches the mic in the beginning of the album (mixtape), like he was appearing out the darkness, he slowly disappears back into the same darkness... into his own (actual vocal) echoes, the Echoes of Silence.

its crazy im tistic af so when i first hear initiation the "vocal pitch changing" i instantly recognized as his "throat length" being automated throughout the track , which affects from where you are projecting your vocal in your throat. pretty sick effect

Not long after that, he started popping up on everyone's songs but not only that, every feature he killed, AND every one of those songs has HIS sound on them and he damn near made other people's songs HIS songs. Now look at him. The first artist in history to have Six songs with over 2 Billion streams. Highest streamed song of all time. 11 Platinum. Super Bowl. Got his own movie coming out this year, also called Hurry Up Tomorrow. GOATED Legend.

So this project was when I discovered him, Dec 2011. I got to binge all 3 mixtapes and man, I knew he was GOAT’d in my book. For several years I listened to something from him every single day until Kissland dropped (probably my favorite overall LP with After Hours close behind) and I dunno man, dude just kept progressing and the vocals got better, the experimentation was there, it was just a game changer for me. So many women HATED how much I loved his music because of how toxic it could be but damn, he was just being real. Too many people are fake and just make music because their record label requires it. He did this and just crushed it. The songs he gave Drake for Take Care honestly wouldn’t have made these any better but he is a total vibe. And to be making this at 20/21 yrs old, still anonymous - people didn’t know if this was a group or what. Illangelo handled most of the production and that’s what made After Hours so good is he got pulled back in for that project while the record execs kept him away from Beauty and Starboy. I swear these 3 mixtapes were on rotation for YEARS. He’s just amazing

I feel like most people end up loving what they are introduced to first...lots of people who listened to after hours/dawn fm first prefer the pop sound, whereas people who've been there since the beginning prefer trilogy. Can't go wrong either way.
