😄ha, ya I get that a lot. Rest assured I have my reasons for it though. Somewhere there's a kid going through hell enough fighting for their life... only to be reminded of it every time they look in a mirror, walk past a window, or endure the curious expressions on other children's faces. I happen to have a lot of very thick never dyed hair, and if it can help that child feel a little bit more whole again... Then I'll gladly get tangled up in my creeper and have to call my wife to rescue me, look a bit scraggly on camera, and laugh off being misgendered all the time, to ensure there's enough hair for the wig makers to make a right proper wig out of it. 🙂

Hi again, Im going to be doing a flush on my 2007 D5 this week and some help from your experience would be very appreciated. I plan to do 2 flushes, how many km/miles before the second one. For each flush is there a chance that more than 4L will come out? Last q-I should change my pan gasket and 2 filters after the second flush? Thx ☺️

I am sure there are others, but that was the only one I was able to find that was listed as compatible in my area.

Good clip PA! What are your thoughts on why it only needed like 4-5L of fluid? I think these take around 7 litres of trans fluid. Do you think it’s because you decided to not do a ‘full’ flush?

@danielgladys48 a drian and fill will only get what's sitting in the pan. There is still more fluid in the pump and torque converter, which will not have been drained.

What do you actually mean by not trusting the cvt and not doing a full flush ? Thats pretty vague for a non mechanic like me.

CVT transmission have been pretty hit or miss reliability wise in North America. The D5 so far doesn't seem to be plagued with the issues other CVT transmission have had, but being they are still so recent to North America it still has not fully earned my trust. A full flush would have evolved flushing out the torque converter and trans cooler as well by using the transmissions internal pump to move the fluid. You can see this method in the l400 trans fluid flush video.

So do all automatic Delicas have CVT transmissions?

Gas powered D5s run a CVT. The upper end models have padel shifters that allow the CVT mimic a conventional automatic. Diesel versions have a conventional autobox.

@@projectaddiction Ah! So the D5 is the newest version, the L400 that I was looking at getting would have a normal automatic transmission correct? I hate all things CVT !
