Unique recipe, but one tip pls soak jeera and black pepper seperately. Becos if we strain flavour will gone so soak seperately then add while grinding without strain excess water. Only suggestion

I like how Cheta Rao so eagerly shared his recipes! Many people don’t do that. I make Adai often but I don’t use moong dal in it. Also, we use coriander seeds (dhania) and regular red chilies for heat. Lastly, the light orange from byadagi is wonderful. I will def try this recipe. Curious that rice/dals are being soaked together while I was always taught to soak them separately. I just wish that sooo much of oil/ghee were not added but that’s why restaurant dishes are always tastier lol. I don’t use that much grease at home as it’s turning healthy, lentil protein dosas into unhealthy ones😅

In my house my mother used to make with all 4 dals equally and double rice. Ground with coconut red chillies and hing. Eaten with honey, joni bella. Always cooked with ghee. It is never fermented and all dals are ground coarsely. Filling with overdose of protein.

No jeera and pepper in traditional recipe. Grind and use immediately, we use only drumstick leaves curry leaves and chilli. Batter is never smooth but coarse .. excellent recipe for an alternative.
