Simplicity: using the Yeti cooler as an eating platform. love it!

It functions great as a table and a cooler! haha

I use my yeti as a chair and use the tailgate as a table. Having a well made cooler comes in handle for a lot of things. I use it for a step sometimes too.

Last time I went camping I baked sweet potatoes in foil in the hot coals of the fire, and when they were done, roasted marshmallows and put on the potato; campfire sweet potato marshmallow casserole!

Breakfast cereals are very lightweight, and if you mix in some whey protein with powdered milk and maybe some creatine and/or cocoa powder, you have some very lightweight and nutritions food that dont need refridgeration. Vitamins and minerals are also ideal to bring on trips where it can get difficult to eat healthy. Vitamin D is also very good against Covid, and everyone should be taking this during the winters when we dont get our vitamin D from the Sun.

I like how you try to keep everything as fresh as you can. Inspiration for the rest of us. Some ice cream made with one of those YayLab ice cream maker balls would go great with those brownies. Q1: Have you considered getting the Coleman camp stove oven. I have one and have used it with my family a few times. It works surprisingly well. Not quite as fun as a Dutch Oven, but could be convenient if you're ever in an area with a strict fire ban. Might take a half bottle of fuel though depending on what you're baking. Q2: What is your mic setup? Are you hiding away a lavalier or using a little shotgun attached to your camera?
@amanda.outside3 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the camp stove oven. I really love using the dutch oven 😊 I am using a shotgun mic attached to my camera. I linked the exact one in the description! There are also some GoPro clips in this video, and for those clips I'm just using the built in mic which I think is really good on the GoPro.

I usually use the Nemo Hornet when I go backpacking because it's a little smaller and lighter. I got my tents at an REI garage sale a few years ago for a big discount! I think they have those sale once or twice a year. I hope you like the energy ball recipe!

I've been wanting to get those silicone bags, but thought they would be too hard to clean. You actually put raw chicken in them! So is it hard to get into the crannies along the edges, to get them really clean? How do you do it?
@amanda.outside3 жыл бұрын
I think they're really easy to clean! I usually just use soap and a sponge to clean them, but they're also dishwasher safe, so if I'm using them for raw meat, I usually put them in the dishwasher. At camp, if I store raw meat in a Stasher bag, I don't reuse that bag until I give it a good wash at home, just to be safe.

I know you've been to this park before but if you go somewhere new, do you research nearby hikes ahead of time or just explore? what's your process
@amanda.outside3 жыл бұрын
I typically research hikes ahead of time. I also like to explore and find new places to hike on the public lands. I use the Gaia GPS app satellite overlays and the land use overlays to research and plan where I want to go. I also use Google maps satellite views to plan and prepare. I do a lot of planning at home before I even hit the trails!
