One thing about the ridgemonkey range is that the normal “ toaster “ is just the size of an average slice of bread. So fairly small & designed originally to just toast a sandwich. So the size does limit its uses however, handy for motorcycle camping. The XL is in my view more versatile and big enough to cook a breakfast for one on.

Oh my gosh I love your videos!I love Biolite reviews and new recipes, And this one looks delicious! How long did the Biolite run on one load of pellets? Did you have to keep feeding it pellets?
@BellasBigAdventures

Ah thank you 😊 we used about 400g out of a 1000g bag. That was probably slightly more than we really needed to cook that meal and boil the water. The full bag says 2 hours cooking time! They definitely burn hotter than twigs but not always practical to carry them if you’re backpacking/hiking.

Thanks for sharing! Awesome accessory for the Biolite & I love mine. Wished the Ridgemokey was sold here in the USA & I haven’t found a place yet to ship it to me. I like the idea that it’s so versatile & I’ve seen others bake with it but not with the Biolite yet. I would love to see what type of tasty treats you can cook with it to see if it will work. Popcorn would be fun to try.

Thank you Bella’s Big Adventures for sharing this. I’ve been wanting a way to bake with the Biolite . I can’t wait to see what I can cook with it.

@@keesverhagen9227 Same. I am heading to Norway for 15 days coming July 22' however, I don't want to pack to much. Got side panniers (30L and 26L) and 35L dry bag. So, with that in my mind, I am not sure if I should buy this or go for the MSR Pocket Stove 2. Actually, this is just a one-time purchase. So, the cost is easily recouped if you use this for a longer period of time. What ya think?

What are your thoughts on the biolite 2 I've been wanting to get one for glamping with my family and it would be nice to cook small meals and have it charge my phone at the same time what's your thoughts and opinions
@BellasBigAdventures
@BellasBigAdventures Жыл бұрын
We love it. Its lightweight and small enough to take off site but if you’re using it on a glamping site its the perfect size. It has a small light as well as the phone charger and it gets up to full charge quickly. The 2+ is out now and has a larger capacity battery storage too. Nit sure if you’ve seen it but we-did do a full review prior to this video. Biolite Campstove 2 Bundle Review - on The Danube Slovakia 4K kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaLTl4Sof8eSjtU

Why not cook at home and take do the food in a isolated container ? So much easier. Lets be honest. It is really an awfull cooking kit for backpacking. To much trouble and much to heavy. And a big problem when it has been raining for a few days. But there should defenitly be a version 3 or 4 until it is made right.

Thanks for watching. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. We love it and prefer to cook fresh rather than at home and we don’t find it any heavier than carrying a gas stove with gas!

@@BellasBigAdventures i have the version 2 and for me it is a big dissapointment. I am even a bit pissed at myself that i bought it. Probably you are using it with daytrips and a car ? I have tried a few times with that addon thing to prepare meat. But what i do it is always messy. Beleive me, at home i love to cook with wood. I live at the countryside and i have several woodstoves that can cook. Also one with an oven. I have nothing against using wood. But for this price this cooker must become a bit more upgraded. I have the idea that 70 percent is pure profit for the company that build it and the reseller combined. For this amount of money people deserve way more. But that is just my opinion. Probably 80 percent of the people that purchace this biolite will try it a few times and then never use it again. Money better given to poor people that need it.

Why take the fun out of outdoor cooking & to enjoy a hot meal? You make some good points & not everyone is going to take this stove on backpacking camping trips but I have a friend that dose & has the first gen that is lighter. Never got it with the pot but later got the grill. He likes it that he doesn’t need to take fuel. He doesn’t start off going camping in the rain & when he finds a place he gathers a bunch of wood to keep it dry. Has taken the grill to mountain lakes to cook fish & hardly packs any food or water. After going car camping & having picnics a few times with him I got the 2 gen with bundle, his bro got one too & he hunts a lot. I like the wood flavoring & its like using the old BBQ grill. I have camp chief grills for a lot of people but I mostly use the Biolite when there’s a couple of us. The Biolite pellets are so expensive & I can get 20 pound smoking pellets for way less that I like to use when cooking fish. Biolite has given me a new grill when the one I bought had a defect but I’ll keep using it & the new one is a backup. They even replaced my stove when it got over heated that the fan blades broke out because I let a friend run it & he had sticks sticking out the top. I got mine in a backpack & I stick it in my box on my quad when riding. I carry some pellets with me when no wood is near or wet. I even use it as a heater & got a heat cap for it. The pellets are better to use for the heater & last longer. Some people have used grilling mats or used aluminum foil in the grill, even put foil under grill grate to keep it cleaner. Biolite has given a bunch of their bigger stoves to people that are living without electricity. Most people will agree that this stove is really to big for backpacking.
