Hello Everyone!! Today we are in the kitchen cooking steamed cabbage and Chicken and Rice.
Steamed Cabbage Recipe
2 med. chopped Head of Cabbage
3 slices of Bacon
2 Tablespoons Canola or Vegetable Oil
1 or 2 sliced Jalapeño pepper
2 cups water
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chicken and Rice Recipe
8 pieces of chicken (Amount is optional)
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
2 stalks of celery chopped
2 Tablespoons Garlic powder
1 Tablespoon Black or less
The amount of rice depends on how much broth you use.
1 cup of Instant Rice to 1 cup of broth. Follow directions on box.
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Cover chicken with water and add vegetables and seasonings. Boil on medium heat. Start by boiling on high then reduce your heat to a simmer. When the chicken cook for a hour check for the tenderness if the chicken is pink or tough it’s not completely done, so continue to cook until the chicken is done and tender. Remove your chicken from the pot and measure the broth. Make sure to have a carton of chicken broth on hand depending on how much you want to make. Measure and place the broth and chicken back into the pot and let it boil then add the same amount of rice, stir in and turn off heat and place a tight fitting lid. Let it set for 10 and then stir. Add 1/2 or 1 stick of butter and serve
