helllllo wolf pack! In today's video, I went through a series of highs and lows, to end up, once again remembering why it is I love to go fishing.. If you love to fish you know the feeling of being skunked and on the other end, catching. What it all comes down to is the time spent to get to either of those and also the drive left within you to get back out there and catch another one - or REDEMPTION! Sharing these moments on the river with my dad is priceless. He cracks me up and taught me everything I know about fishing and the outdoors. Thank y'all for watching. Let me know if you try the recipe or what your go to trout cooking method is! Happy New Year

There is no place I have ever fished that I couldn't pull something with a simple red n white spoon with a treble hook. we had a small fork off the Egg Harbor river we fished and you could pull stripers, perch, pike, and occasionally a stray weakfish all in the same day on the same spinner. Just depended what time of year and what part of the shadows or open water you cast into.

is that a blackhawk cap, i would try to drift fish above the rapids and let float down to the pool. real fisherman dont quit we just rest. try this two slip shot about 18 inches from hook and two salmon eggs let it drift and bounce the bottom..

Heidi I heard you Dad give you some great advice. I won't say you can't catch trout fishing downstream, but Ill never waste my time doing it because you will catch ten times more always casting upstream and winding down. The secret with a rooster tail is wind just barely faster than the current, enough to make the blade spin. You'll start catching way more!! You're already an accomplished angler, but we all can learn something from a fellow fisherman! I was impressed watching you remove the skelton from that cooked rainbow.... it made me hungry!!

Love it when your Dad makes an appearance - he's quite the character. I miss fishing with mine, cherish the times. As for trout, we just wrap them in foil with the head on, season w/ herbs & douse with olive oil, and put it on the grill. Or... you can cook in bacon fat w/ an egg wash and flour coating - mmm.

Then put half miracle whip half catsup in bowl add a shot of bread and butter pickle juice then put some lawry's salt, alpine seasoning and onion powder, Makes the best fry sauce for your fish. My favorite trout recipe is to put almonds, dried mushrooms, and dried onion flakes in a blender style coffee grinder or food processor and whiz until the almonds are crushed but not powdered. Add salt and pepper to taste and a little wheat flour to help bind. Dredge the trout in the mixture and sautee both sides in butter until done. After you flip the trout, add the remaining dredge to the pan to toast, and when serving sprinkle the extra toasted dredge on top of the fish. Add fresh squeezed lemon at the table. Enjoy!

Hi Heidi! I know folks up north catch fish on a Rooster Tail, but in TN and FL where I am, I have NEVER caught a fish on one. Just try a piece of corn on a small hook for farm raised trout. They'll hit it every time! You can even use a tiny float 6" from the bait, to cut down on snags. Peace...

Fyi...Salt and garlic always smoke on medium to higher heat. Try adding your salt and garlic toward the end of your cooking fryer time, and you will avoid a lot of the smoke and charing on higher heat. Also, try using butter without salt, and you will notice your butter doesn't smoke as much when it is heated. Just a few cooking tips for ya. Lots a love! Keep the joy alive and flowing! Tons of Smiles :)

Oh no, is China into making our loures for fishing...heaven forbid! You know, when I watch these professional fishing shows on tv, I'm looking for the stores that have the smarter loures and or bate works best today, which works well for our favorite places to fish. It's always good to have the latest stuff that's been tried and works. Instead of hanging on to what doesn't work, just saying. At times, I'd throw in the kitchen sink if I thought it would work..haha!😄🤠

That is pretty much how I cook my trout (with the heads still on), but bigger guys, like steelhead or salmon, I like to bake in a foil pan with melting butter and sliced onions on a grill...you get some smokey flavour. Then right before it's finished, spoon on some dollops of sour cream. I let that melt over the fish and mix in with the butter. It really is awesome!
