It is sad that 95% of that fishery was destroyed by the 2016-2019 drought. Water shut off for 9 months at a time. The cutt's and bow's are coming over the spillway. Hopefully the fishery will recover. It was a great brown trout fishery. It is clear that the brown's have not recovered by the type of fish you caught. Nice video.

I fished that river before the shut the water off too. I heard they did dam repairs and said screw you to the fish… not because of a drought. My buddy and I would fish cicadas and split the river catching and releasing as many as 85 a day walking past that broken concrete. Maybe 5 miles down and fishing back to the railroad bridge and then get another dozen each above that before running into some bait guys killing a few. Always barbless flies for me. But at least it looks to be getting decent. Cool video. It would’ve been way too easy with a lure back then. Also seen cut bows to 28+ in there. Used to be big carp but never caught a tiger in there before.

That was a Rapala Xrap xr-8👍🏼 I have had quite a few Fenwick rods. They are pretty sensitive and all for the price but I have broken 3 different fenwick rods. Including the one I was using in the video. They fixed them all for me through their warrant. But I have had a bunch of other rods from different brands with similar or more use and not broken. St.Croix rods have been the best for me personally.
