I definitely agree with the toy look. When I got it my first thought was it looks almost cartoony but that’s ok I like the way it looks. It feels simple yet different enough to make it an interesting knife. Not to mention that blue is one of the best blue g10s I have seen.

Some good points Pete. To me it’s a knife for someone who understands the value of an edc knife but doesn’t care what it looks like or have any interest in owning more than one. It’s a snooze fest for me, but good for him for designing a knife.

I see a lot of comments complaining about its "boring" look. Funny because this is precisely its simplicity and no bullshit esthetic that lured me to it. Have fun with your "over the top" edc to all John Rambo/Jason Statham wannabes

Since I seen it I always liked the its design, blade shape, simplicity, but couldn't cheat on my everyday carry (Cold Steel Code 4), cause I'm not a knife hoarder, and don't like when stuff ends up on "sheeelf", especially something 100$+, being a Eastern Europoor. But I'd tip my toes into buying new Civivi Baby Banter, it follows the similar design philosophy, it is made by little sister company (Civivi, guaranteed good build), and it would fill a role. I recon it will be a great success for Ben and WE saleswise.

Ben is a super nice guy. That being said the knife is not worth its price tag and is lackluster in design. I wish him the best and hope he has more success in the future but can't pretend this knife is better than it is just because he's a good dude

The price seems fine to me, sure theres a ridiculous amount of better values at that price point, but that doesnt necessarily mean this isnt fairly priced, in my opinion. The problem, to me, is that It looks like something made by the james brand, or like it would be the feature of one of those kickstarter campaigns that Pete so justifiably derided in his last video. Im sure its a fine knife, but with all the value available in the current market, fine isnt good enough.

The Banter is on top of my list of knives too add to the collection asap. I apparently missed the boat on the 1st batch and my son was highly disappointed as he had wanted a black one for his birthday. Fingers crossed the 2nd run lasts a bit longer and I can snatch one for him, maybe even one myself and I'm not picky on the color as long as I get one. Definitely a well designed yet very simple knife and should expect nothing less from We Knives..

But then when you discussed your theory on the influences for this knife just before 7:45, you didn't mention the almost identical profiles of the knife and the knife on the poster behind you... hmm i dont get what is so special about this. its a block of g10 with a decent blade that happens to have a deep carry pocket clip. For some reason people seems to go nuts over square blocky unfinished g10 knives all the time! i sure dont, i got the spyderco bombshell a week ago and that thing is day and night difference in ergo's and finish, its rounded perfectly, smooth g10, no deep carry clip while also having a deep hollow ground blade and a perfect recurve into belly blade. if i need to compare these 2 knives to eachother its not even close.. this thing is a WE made para 3 (g10 version). If i think about the lazy way of making knives it would be cutting out 2 squares of g10, barely finishing them and putting them together with some standoffs.

Even though it does resemble the Dosier I somehow don't like the way the Dosier looks but love the way the Banter looks. It's got a very clean look with well defined lines. Also the blade is more broad. Im hoping for a large version. Also I wish they'd sell the black blade version with a Ben blue handle. Frankie and Bird swapped out the blades and it looked awesome.

Everyone is probably a little biased because of Ben, but maybe that’s part of his plan. I really like the concept of a well made, well thought out, boring knife. But not everyone is ready for that, and maybe it takes someone like Ben to sell it to the world.

Nice review that appears completely honest. That knife has all the ingredients of a good knife, in a very vanilla package. G10, S35VN, liner lock, deep pocket clip. Very boxy, uninspired design with a classic blade shape. Not a bad knife by any means, but not for me. I like my knives like I like my women- a bit more curvy and dangerous. Thanks for the review (except for the "music" at the end, that was horrid).

Butthurt because their "hybrid" economic system seems to do all the things neoliberal capitalism promised/claimed before/while making our lives miserable (e.g. poverty reduction).
