I remember how satisfying it was that the clocks actually kept game time in TS3, and probably TS2. Somehow I got the idea from reading Guru posts that this may be a thing again. Brooklyn used to be working class, but has been undergoing transition that is politically controversial where wealthy people have moved to Brooklyn either to save money or because there isn't enough space in Manhattan. As a result, rent has increased and many people whose families have lived in Brooklyn for generations have been displaced or left homeless. They call that displacement gentrification. New Brooklyn has a reputation in popular culture of being very hipster and "cool", but because of the gentrification issue, that focus on coolness and superficial frivolity is often seen as insensitive.

Liv L There are many reasons, Liv. Many people have trouble getting by day-to-day, let alone planning for the future. I'm a social worker. Some people I work with often have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table, and other things higher earners take for granted. I would recommend doing some research on gentrification and systemic poverty if you want to learn more. It's a very important and challenging topic.

Brooklyn is so big!!! There's a lot of industrial buildings in one part, but there's another completely different part where there's mansions, and is near the water so the view is very beautiful! A lot of people think that Brooklyn is a bad neighborhood because of the movies and TV shows. I guess a big part of it used to be bad back in the day, but this has changed a lot!!! I'm proud to say there I live in Brooklyn! I'm a Brazilian living in Brooklyn =)

*_What I did_* when uploading my apartment to the gallery was to have 'move objects on' and then just remove the wall behind the doors. The doors would then stay there but just without a wall to support it. Much easier to just put the wall and wallpaper back when placing it again, rather than to put the wall _and_ the door back. :)

Oh yeah, there's a slight flaw with the apartment being cheap. Unless the people living there rent the apartment in the LP then they have to be pretty rich, owning an apartment in NYC is very expensive.

Deli vitamin C tablets are absolutely wonderful for when you feel like your getting sick! Every time I feel like I've been getting sick i take vitamin c and I feel better the next day. I've been doing this the last 3 or 4 years and I've only gotten the flue once! :)

Brooklyn is the best. I grew up in Brooklyn and it is depicted that way in Modern television because those types of apartments are in fact very modern and are popping up in places in Brooklyn that were not lived in like Redhook and Greenpoint, Williamsburgh. Those places do have buildings like this that are just being transformed now and are becoming heavily populated. I have a family friend who lives in redhook and they have a magnificent apartment that was an old warehouse that is now a pretty sophisticated apartment complex. Cant even imagine how much they bought it for, over a million maybe? Probably looks a lot like this one you made. Most people live in Houses that are broken up into apartments. The apartment you made is extremely high end, more like Manhattan and would certainly not exist in Brooklyn for under $5,000 a month. If you are doing a sims Brooklyn version of Gossip girl, in reality they would all be living in that apartment to cover the costs of city living. The most important/common/and beautiful structures to live in are the Brownstone homes in Brooklyn heights, which you should definitely make in a build.

A lot of times when the seasons change we tend to get sick. When you feel a cold coming on get some zinc lozenges we have them called Cold-Eeze here in the US. I have two bedside tables, but I'm marred and share my bed. So I have one, and my husband has one.

I've lived in Brooklyn my whole life, and from what you're saying, it sounds like you spent a lot of time in DUMBO, where a lot of the residencies are warehouses converted to lofts (also it's where Dan lives, if Gossip Girl is really what this LP is based upon). I think because this is the most "trendy" spot in Brooklyn right now, it's what is being shown off, but the rest of Brooklyn is a lot of houses, not apartment buildings. My neighborhood, for example, is full of brownstones and row houses, and I think that rings true for most of the rest of the borough. I do agree that the apartments in the mainstream pop culture are a little exaggerated - I don't know anyone in Brooklyn with an apartment this spacious and well laid out. Love this build!!

I live in Brooklyn! An apartment like this one would probably cost somewhere close $1,000,000. It sounds like maybe you were in Williamsburg when you visited Brooklyn. There are a lot of industrial buildings there, and some converted into apartments and lofts. Brooklyn is actually massive and there are a lot of very different neighborhoods with very different architecture styles.
