I grew up on pure maple syrup and there is absolutely nothing that can compare to the real deal. My dad would heat a quart of pure maple syrup and add walnuts to it then pour it over homemade vanilla ice cream.

My mom convinced us that it was so absurdly expensive that only rich people could afford it. She gave me a bottle for my birthday one year because I had asked about real maple syrup. I lived it then it ran out and she went right back to mes Butterworth. Then as an adult I realized that you could get a jug of syrup that would last months for about what a hamburger would cost.😊😊

I just tasted it for the first time in my life and WOW why did I wait so long, well price is one reason, I paid £4.75 = $5.77 for 250ml. it is sweet but not sickly with a mellow wood taste with some other flavourings I've never tasted before, it will go on my porridge tonight, reading its food values it is like Pop-eyes spinach and the energy levels are off the scale, pure energy from a natural source with no preservatives, colourants, stabilisers or E-Numbers, just as nature made it, maple trees must be fast growers !

wouldn't you be worried about potentially spreading disease through an entire forest? You've essentially connected the 'veins' of every single tree and let the 'blood' flow freely past each other. It would be like getting and doling out blood donations from every single volunteer with no background check.
@danielleN101
@danielleN101 2 жыл бұрын
The trees are already connected, through their roots.
@Mel-qr5ob
@Mel-qr5ob 2 жыл бұрын
@@danielleN101 no they're connected through the mycorrhizal network and that *doesn't* transfer sap between trees. I think maybe you read a poorly worded explanation of it, the roots of trees aren't joined like conjoined twins. For your understanding maybe imagine like, a tandem skydiving harness. They are physically connected, tied together by something which isn't a part of their body, can communicate more easily, can send nutrients more easily(think handing eachother a snack bar) but there is no direct exchange of fluid.
@Mel-qr5ob
@Mel-qr5ob 2 жыл бұрын
@@danielleN101 Plants can also communicate by releasing chemicals through their roots. However again, the roots are not connected to do this. It would be like the equivalent of human speech. You send out a "message" to a nearby human. Or in this case from one tree to another. Talking happens without fluid exchange. Same idea for trees.
