Yet another great film I have to thank you for! You got me hooked when I first watched The Wanderer" and now that I've had some free time to watch your more recent videos I am thoroughly impressed and grateful. It's more than just the obvious things like your great choice actors and actresses, an entire film crew that pull off an amazing job and the well-thought-out dialogue, script and screenplay story that you tell, it's all the little things as well. For just one example in this video it's how well you've used the lighting and the water reflecting the light of it on to the walls, that was just enough light to convey that they are really in a dark tunnel. My girlfriend once told me she "Never did mind about the little things." :) but in your films it's all the little things that you've gotten right that add up to make it even more believable and enjoyable. Thank you ALL once again!

Excellent. It's one thing to write a script. It's quite another to find persons to make it live. From sleeping smartly in tunnels, to practical 'payment', to continued belief in God while comforting the dying, to the meaning of Life, to self-defense combat, to Cannibalistic madness, and finally to a Friendship forged during severe adversity, I'd give you all an award and funding if I could. Tears in my eyes. Bravo. Bravo.

Are we alone in the universe? If not, who and what else is there? God? A creator? Answers to our questions may only be found within ourselves form experiences and interactions with those we meet along our journey of life. 70 years into my journey and still no answers but I don't think we are alone. Perhaps we learn the answers when we leave this journey and enter the next. Interesting story and film. Good work.

Awesome! I love the attention to realistic details, like "Try running around in the woods for a few months without one." This is so true, I've discovered this when camping; yet it's something post-apocalyptic films never think about.

You're the first one to comment on this point, thank you so much! I've made a lot of these kind of films and a lot of commenters have said "women wouldn't wear bras in the apocalypse." I wanted to make a point of that in this one.

Nice wide angle shot of the Tulsa city-scape, all brightly lit. Guys driving a well-maintained vehicle. So, you got well-fed looking ladies, some clean-shaven strapping young gents showing up with halogen bulb maglights, a functioning power grid, and a technological infrastructure supporting refining petroleum, with state-of-the art properly maintained vehicles... Apocalypse Club Med style. :D Sure beats pre-Apocalypse Detroit :0 ;)

Since I am watching this over once more with a positive attitude i wanted to also add that the actors are good and one in particular is very good and i wont say which one because they all are talented but one in particular is really amazing. I hope you all find your success and good luck. Wait WTF. How can she carry that girl. I would have thrown my back out and been rendered useless for a month. If that was no harness or trickery than i am truly having a new hero. That is scary and beautiful at the same time. Wow.. ;P

Me: IS THAT KELSEY CARROLL??? Last time I saw her was in Hello Dolly at ORU 😂 Also me: IS THAT JESSICA COLLIER?? Nahh she didn’t do acting right? During the credits: OH IM NOT CRAZY 😅❤ Great work, Ian. It was a little slow on the uptake for me, but once it got going I loved it. the fight scenes were especially impressive. Let’s collaborate soon!!!

Overall good acting and good effort. But I knew they would leave the first dead girls knife and who knows how many other useful items. Then the second girl she threw the axe at... left her stuff. Then the two man eaters; never bothered to search any of them. How do they survive after an apocalypse for more than ten minutes passing opportunities like that?

My original message i wanted to post was this one I will paste below. However I thought it was not right to judge so quickly. I watched the whole thing and i brought me to tears not because of the movie visuals as much as the message it taught me as a person and for that I am so indebted your work. Never has a film brought so much out of me and emotions and lesson to be taught for us as a society to take note. Really a wonderful example of what art is and thank you again. Here was the message that thankfully I never did post accept to post as my lesson you taught me. I am embarrassed to even post this but i will for others to learn the same lesson I did. Unfortunately I was really into this movie when a few minutes into it I realized it was a feminist propaganda typical Deliver "Me Too" movement type crap ruining the world and infecting our graduating classes with a degree in "Feelings" and anti men views. Once you made men the evil villains it became to unrealistic and a bad taste for me to watch. Men can be hero's along side women. Its not one or the other like this film and today's art and education has brought us to this place and this video. It had so much great things about it but the message is in bad taste. I am now subscribed and look forward to more of your work. Cheers

Thank you for your comment, and the inclusion of your original; your humility on display is astounding. You probably know that with short films, we work with what we can get; to give you a little trivia on this one, women were pretty much the only actors I had available, as pretty much every guy I originally cast wound up dropping out (the one guy in this film was a last minute replacement, he was the fight choreographer). A lot of my work probably appears to be feminist because of the overwhelming majority of female roles in my films, but that is mainly due to the fact that most of the actors I know are women. I try to write characters irrespective of gender, because I believe that there are important stories to tell beyond the issues of sex. Thank you again, glad to have you as a subscriber!

@@iharrup That is interesting to learn. I can imagine how even a short film can be exhausting and frustrating to get your vision out with the material and resources you have. Your work is awesome and any post apocalyptic films i am on it like a dog on a steak bone. One of my favorites of all time was watching Escape from New York. It was not necessarily post apocalyptic but had that vibe to it. One more thing i want to add is the person who suggested a film on how the end of humanity started would be a great project for the future but its easier said than done I can imagine. Thanks again.
