why, why, why! in almost every single film, long or short, where combat and scarcity of weapons exist, the victor of whatever battle just concluded gathers their people and then walk off leaving a nice big tasty pile of firearms, long rifles, ammo and a whole bunch of other stuff behind. I'm back with another "congratulations to a well-made video!". I like the postapocalypse stuff and you've done that genre quite well again. Great actors, make up, locations, etc.. I haven't watched all your videos yet but so far the male lead in this video seems to be the best male actor. maybe it's because he was in pain but I "believed" him and his emotions. Keep up the great work and more postapocalypse stuff please.

Interesting storyline , and could well be expanded , into a good and emotional film , time period could be a period over the last 80 years in any war torn country , I certainly would like to see this film given a full production ,not as science fiction , but as contemporary drama or recent history

Very good. That's real acting and good writing. Actors looked the part, looked they had been thru some bad times. Blind girl was so believable I'm wondering if she is blind. No one over played there part including the psychopath at the end. Carry on the story.

Those are some well-fed girls to be living rough in a combat environment .. Real clean too . Loved the water in bottles , they must shop at Walmart when they aren’t being shot at . They don’t know much about tactical movement or keeping a 360 either . They have piss-poor fire discipline, to be short on ammo . And they are noisy . Moving around in the open during the daytime ... Standing around like they are at a church social ... close enough together for one burst to get them all . Maybe they get regular air drops . Failed to strip the dead of weapons and ammo . Always police up any spare gear . Take it , even if you have to cache it and come back for it later . Boots and shit don’t grow on trees . Taking the blind chick with them isn’t such a bad move ... clean her up a little , and they might can trade her for something they need . Hot little honey in short-shorts is always going to be worth something to somebody , if she puts out and don’t eat much . No worries though , the bad guys were just as bad . What’s the crazy shit with the smile thing ? Everybody who lives close to the ground is always short on entertainment , not a lot of TV or internet ... but that was just goofy. Incidentally ... if everyone is that short on ammo ( and we always are ) ... a knife doesn’t use bullets ... doesn’t give away your position . Cut their throats and move on . If you got plenty of ammo , one round in the back of the head . The Hollywood firing squad thing is just dumb . Hook up with some real soldiers , talk to them before you make your next movie . Talk to somebody out of Africa , the Middle East , Southeast Asia , or Central America , who’s lived through shit like this . There’s enough of them around .

I made this film nearly four years ago, trust me that I have heard every point here multiple times from multiple sources - I do appreciate your painstaking attention to details, though I wish you had taken some time to find something enjoyable or rewarding about the film. Perhaps that's too much to ask; my film isn't perfect, in fact it's far from it according to these criticisms. But when I'm just rounding up some summer friends for a fun, crazy film to make, sometimes the little details slip us by because we're just having fun doing what we love. Maybe next time we'll consult the KZbin commenters to make something that passes muster.

iharrup Didn’t mean to rag on you kid ! You had some pretty good camera work , the kids didn’t do too bad delivering their lines . The special effects weren’t bad either . Consider my remarks to be a sort of after action report . We hardly ever talk about what we did right , but you can damn well bet we will go over what we could do better next time in exhausting detail . Find some old crusty bastard that has been shot at , ask him questions , and listen to the answers . If more than one keeps telling you the same thing , then you are pretty close to real . Before long , you’ll be turning out stuff that stone killers will be nodding about ... yep , that’s what it looks like . Live in the gear for a while , get it broke in , and get you used to it ... it’s part of you now . Get dirty , get hungry , get mean . If you have any questions about small arms and small unit tactics, run ‘em by me , I’ll try and answer them . I’m full of opinions . Take them for what they are worth , you know what they say about free advice ... it’s worth what you pay for it . Until then , aim low , keep your burst short , three to five rounds ... walk ‘em into your target . Run fast , stay low , eyes out ... and don’t walk around out in the open ... at least not in the daylight . Keep your noise , light , smell , sight and movement discipline at all times . If someone is tracking you , don’t make it too easy for them ... it ruins all the fun . Keep an eye on your six , maintain a 360 , look high and low ... everybody cover their sectors and maintain your intervals . Hand signals and whispers only , at least until you go loud . Everybody is always short of food , water , ammunition and luck . Never waste a drop of any of them . Resupply is a gift from God , and He’s not known for being overly generous. Keep your weapons clean , your gear packed , your mags topped off and your canteens full ... you have to be ready to move at the drop of a hat ... and you may never be back this way again . Gear adrift is a gift ... to the enemy . If you can’t take it with you , hide it or destroy it . Bad guys always show up at the exact moment when it is the most inconvenient , plan accordingly . If anything you are doing is going too well , it’s an ambush ... and you are in the kill-zone . Stay to cover , don’t do stupid shit , pray a lot , who knows ? He might even be listening , Hope the answer isn’t “ NO !” Shit , it can’t hurt . Keep in a constant state of suspicious awareness ... watching ... always watching . And if it all goes to shit , burn all your rounds before you go down ... no use dying with full mags .or unexploded ordinance . Make some noise on your way out .

Why in the world do people in the movies always leave useful weapons and equiptment laying around instead of taking it with them or at least caching it somewhere if it is too much to carry?? That would be especially important in a post apocalyptic world.

Movies have to take dramatic considerations first; the film would have been 5 minutes longer if they always stripped the dead, plus if they have all they can carry then there's no practicality to loading even more stuff. A swap maybe, but they have to travel light to move fast.

If it is a matter of carrying too much then caching the excess would be the optimal course of action unless you are under direct or imminent threat. Leaving viable weapons, ammunition and or supplies laying around where your enemies can easily find them is a losing strategy. Also, in a post apocalyptic world you are unable to run down to the local grocery store or gun shop to replace what you have used up so it is important to utilize every potential asset that you run across because it may be your only chance to ever find it again.

It's because of the absence of social or governmental order - there are no zombies in Mad Max or The Book of Eli, they are post apocalyptic simply because the world as we know it is gone. I personally like war films better, but the genre of post apocalypse allows me to explore storytelling without current events or politics.

Lol my friends asked me this when we were making the film. As you probably know, sensory deprivation in one or more arenas heightens the other available senses (she is blind, so her hearing and smell compensate). It is possible to detect the presence of water by the evaporation that occurs (think about when you are near the ocean, or a lake, or a pool), because there is always bacteria or minerals in water that can be detected by the olfactory senses. Animals in particular are experts at finding water; in the Old West, if a herd of cattle smelled water nearby, they would stampede to get to it and possibly run themselves to death. In the case of this blind girl lost in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, her senses have adapted to detect even a tiny presence of water.

Animals can smell water. The blind girl had a heightened sense of smell. Although she'll slow them down, her superior hearing and smell would probably offset that. They won't have to move as fast because her hearing would give them early warning to evade capture, while her sense of smell could help them find open sources of water. I wondered at first how a blind girl could get away from her captors, but then I realized the advantage her increased senses gave her. Was a good film, BTW.
