Played my copy for the first time a couple days ago. What a great experience! Love the game, can't wait to play it more. I do want to say that I am not religious or a spiritual person. I don't hate religion or look down on those who are. The theme had zero affect in my enjoyment of the game.

Thank you for the review, Shea. It is refreshing to listen to a mature reviewer who can assess any game. Many people out there do not realize that diverse philosophies permeate every game that has ever been made. The real question is not "is a philosophy represented here?," but "is the game good?" The same goes with literature. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is thoroughly Christian from its metaphysics to its ethics (he says so himself in his letters and he was a very committed Catholic man who was part of a writing group, the Inklings, which was composed of very Christian intellectuals). *But* he made sure his world stood on its legs. He is rightly beloved by *all* today. Anyway, that makes me want to try the game. I happen to be more skeptical of Christian-themed games than the most nihilistic atheist because of the fact that philosophy tends to trump the game in many of these. This one looks like it has not done this mistake.

Sanguinius on the cover makes it difficult for me to resist buying. ; )

Claustrophobia and many other games have done Angels and Demons. I think maybe the argument here is that it's a little more beholden to actual Christian theology, but anybody who can play those without being triggered should be able to handle this as well.

Thank you for covering this. But the entire game is out now I have it in my house. It's a little late for a prototype review. Glad the game is getting covered.

Reminds me of Peretti's Novels. Looks to be based on them.

The fact that it has a Christian base, as a non-Christian, didn't bother me. I play Cthulhu games and have no interest in Lovecraft, being much more of a Robert E. Howard fan. This is a great game and the deluxe version with the acrylic standees and minis is superb quality.

Not a deal breaker for me. I don't practice religion but this is really cool and could certainly help me lean towards exploring it a little more. I also agree that I find too many female characters in games, comics and other media being oversexualized these days. It was fun to look at at first but I'm real sick of it now.

I don't think Rahdo would let a Christian work for him

not sure why you'd say that, especially since i already do

The war in heaven stuff of angels vs demons is more folklore than core Christianity. Even angel names and demonology evolved overtime within Christian culture and it really isn't the crux of the religion and most believers don't quite believe it works like this. So it makes for a nice fantasy theming while keeping the preaching light.

Angels and demons fighting each other is core Christianity as it is described in scripture many times. It’s not folklore to Christians. Though most details are unknown, making a lot of room for games like this.
