I was waiting for that poor little mini ex to tip forward hauling that genset.

That little baby is stronger then it seems… she’ll tip if your not positioned right or loaded right. After 12 years I’ve found the sweet spot with it

Had any canbus issues with the newer 4.5 liters? I’ve put in about 40 of them and replaced 10 ECM’s.

Brother, we had so many issues in the beginning… did you buy the specific usb drive they told us to ? They’ve been pretty good this year. The 32&38 are my favorite so far. That mitsu motor is great.

@@ipowergenerators4200yes and it works pretty well, although I wish the ECM firmware and the controller firmware would upload in a bundle like the industrial units. They finally came out with a fix for it though, turns out two of the diodes in the DPR relay were not big enough and it was frying controllers and ECM’s. Generac says it should be fixed now. We sell a lot of 38’s. It’s the perfect size to justify a liquid over and air cooled, and when those 2.4’s run good they just purr away. Unfortunately they go through MPU’s, coil packs, starters and flywheel ring gears. Also have issues with the fuel solenoid sticking closed. I really don’t mind the 4.5 liters all that much. The 9.0’s are pieces of crap. It’s just a cheap big block Chevy and very old school. I’m glad they are updating them to have the IMPCO fuel system like the bigger gassers. The PZ410 controller a bit of a shame. I thought they were going to have similar capabilities to the Cummins lineup, but that controller isn’t a ton more capable than the evolution. The PZ pro is fuckin sweet for 4.5 liter industrial units.

Where are you located? I haven't had any major issues on the 4.5L yet but I also haven't installed as many as you. We just put an 80 in recently. I am upset about the 2.4L leaving us. My fav to work on and pretty reliable. @@MrSamsamsammy

@@gentexelite2021 I’m in NC. The 4.5L has been interesting for sure. I’ve got one that I believe will be getting the entire unit replaced under warranty soon. In the last 7 months It’s gone through 5 ECM’s, 3 wiring harnesses, and 5 controllers. I’ve got at least 24 hours of diagnostics into it and a master technician from National Power has 8 hours and can’t figure out what’s causing it. Waiting for technical support to figure out what they want to do with that one, but I’m pushing to get the whole thing replaced. Some of them haven’t missed a beat since install. I’ve had quite a few with CANbus issues, and a few with oxygen sensor problems I can’t seem to figure out. I have a feeling they know there is a problem with the canbus system on the evolution controller; and that’s why they are going with the PZ410 on the new XG 32 and 40KW’s. I’ve done 5 4.5L’s with the power zone pro from the industrial line and haven’t had any issues out of them.
