Bright Green 2 and Bright Pink 2, Welcome to Orlando!
On July 20th, 2022, Brightline's 3rd and 4th train sets for the expansion of service to Orlando were delivered to Brightline’s Vehicle Maintenance Facility at Orlando International Airport. The trains were delivered by CSX after completing a cross country trip from the Siemens Mobility factory in Sacramento, CA. Bright Green 2 and Bright Pink 2 joined Bright Blue 2, which was delivered in February, at the facility where they will undergo commissioning and help with the testing of Brightline’s new Orlando Line in preparation for service beginning. The 1st train of the expansion, Bright Red 2, was delivered to South Florida in October 2021 and is currently being used in regular service between Miami and West Palm Beach.
My thanks go out to Brightline for inviting me to the delivery!

As the train initially got near the shop, I kept wondering how close the drone would get. I thought maybe we'd get a glimpse of the inside. I never thought you would just follow the train right on through the shop! Nice work! You must have a good relationship with them to pull that off. Thanks for your work in documenting this who Brightline process.

Your drone footage is amazing, the Brightline trainsets are absolutely beautiful from the colors to the style both inside and outside. I can't wait until it gets to Tampa so I can travel on it on a routine basis. Brightline has put the spark back into rail travel and the citizens of the state of Florida can be proud as it will showcase what a private venture can do with style !!

As a non US viewer: can you explain the reason behind the (for Europeans seemingly stupid and annoying) bell-sounds that US obviously have to produce while moving? I understand that it is obviously some legal requirement. However, I cannot understand the reason. If a train approaches with 230 km/h (whatever this is in mph), the bell-sound will be of no use whatsoever. (Apart from that, you will probably hear the train well before by hissing sounds of the track.) And people sitting in a car will not hear the bell (and will ignore even the horn signal and drive around the bars - as can be seen in many KZbin videos…) So, what’s the use of the bell sound? I don’t get it. Seems like a way outdated legal requirement that makes no sense whatsoever nowadays…
@RoamingRailfan
@RoamingRailfan 2 жыл бұрын
Bells are required when moving around yards and around stations as a safeguard for anyone working on the trains or around the tracks. They aren't ringing when running on the mainline. In Brightline's case specifically, these trains are extremely quiet so it can be hard to realize they are moving if you are not expecting it.
