James G, Great video brother. I purchased a red PRS SE Paul’s guitar about a month ago. The amazing thing about PRS is the quality they put in ALL of their guitars. I have played Gibson guitars for most of my 48 plus years of playing. 3 years ago I played a Korean made SE Custom 24 and I was instantly hooked. It played better than a $3000 Les Paul Standard. In my opinion they are the best guitars in the planet. They are the only guitars I gig with now

Very nice review! Clear, concise and informative. Subscribed (from Athens Greece). I was just trying out one of these in a LGS. I like the slim/wide neck and the frets are nearly perfect. I also like the two split switches, which in my view permit good single coil tones.

Really great video. You didn't comment on the chunky neck and wondering how it compares to something like the Zack Meyers wide thick neck. I have a smaller hand and currently play a wide thin and found the Zack Meyers guitar to be comfortable even bending. I have a Orianthi wide thin ebony neck right now but I am thinking, counterintuitively that the slightly chunky neck might support my hand better. I played the Zach guitar for about a half hour but GC didn't have the Paul's SE to try. Too far from you in San Diego, to visit your shop but there is a used one online. Thanks

I'm really on the fence with this guitar versus the PRS custom 24-08. Because the 24 08 has the electronic capabilities same but the 24 frets and I've read thinner neck. But I don't care for another tremolo bridge in my guitar collection. I always wanted a PRS. I have a fender strat right now. I've had jackson randy Rhoads in the past but even though I like shred guitar, not comfortable to sit and I don't care about whammy techniques. I want a guitar with versatile ability. Able to play singer songwriter type stuff, jazz, blues, metal, rock but also can shred. So would pauls be my better choice or the custom 24??

I love this guitar but lack enthusiasm for the current color options. If an SE comes out with a purple mist vibe like the core I’m 100% buying one. Or even a green or red. The gray, brown, and blue isn’t my favorite.

Hey guys I’m struggling to choose between this and Gibson tribute. what’s your opinion?

Tough to say without having the two guitars in the room at the same time. The biggest difference is that the Gibson doesn’t have coil-tap capabilities, so the versatility isn’t as wide as the PRS Paul’s Guitar. The Gibson is a great guitar if you’re looking for the classic LP sound, but the PRS will be capable of more sonic exploration. Hope that helps!

Are there any changes to the Pauls SE from the previous model (2019) or just different finishes?

Most updates from PRS are just finishes, but also sometimes include new hardware. In the case of the SE Paul’s Guitar, it is just finish differences.
