So what’s your conclusion based on the evidence you found versus the Yoshi alpha?
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
I would definitely run a fuel controller with this exhaust. I'll be putting a video out in the next week showing how much this system changed the AFR.... and it was a lot more than I was expecting. I can see why Delkevic doesn't publish those results now. Still, it's not a bad system overall, just not fully tuned like the Yoshimura is.

Tremonte Good thing I decided to go with Carbon Yoshimura Alpha and returned the Delkevic. I assumed it was tuned to the bike. Have you had to repack your Yoshi yet. That would be a good video
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
It's not due to repack yet, but i'll probably put something up when the time comes. Yeah... there really isn't a comparison between these two systems. There's a reason why Yoshimura is on many championship winning race bikes and well.... no one uses Delkevic.

I would think it's the fuel controller changing AFR after fitting the fuel controller 02 sensor. Delkevic say's no tuning necessary but recommend a rolling road tune after any performance mod, that would be the wise thing to do but might not be needed. I also hope you put a performance filter to help it breath better too, you will only get better sound and it will really mess with the AFR if not, probably run's rich, as I'm sure you know too well. Others I've seen use these exhaust's say they recommend them and that they have had great results. I can't help but feel you are a little too brand loyal lol, they sound great too btw.
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
Halfdead Rider the results of this exhaust without the fuel controller is actually quite poor, and honestly, scary how lean it made the bike run. I’ll be posting an in-depth review and dyno session with the AFR’s. I did add a performance filter, which adds to the lean mixture, but shouldn’t make it run high 17- low 18. That’s just way too lean. The fuel controller records all data that has to be reviewed before any changes can be approved. There is performance to be had from this system, but my results so far indicate a controller is necessary to maintain a healthy engine.

I have this same exhaust on my z650. Looks good and sounds good for the price. I was looking for people to hear me, not so much performance. I just couldn't bring myself to spend $1,000 on a yoshimera exhaust for a $6,000 bike.

Delkevic is actually a company made by people who used to work for Akrapovic. I had one on my GS500E and it was awesome! Looking to get the same for my new 650!

What’s up bro . I put this on my bike with the help of ur video . Thing is hella loud man . Did you have to remap it because it back fires and pops a lot ? Cuz it’s definitely loud

I did have to tune it. The bike ran extremely lean in some rpm ranges. See here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWaxaKOKqr1-aM0

If you order directly from Delkevic, you'll save another $15 or $20 since eBay has their charges, a lot of companies will charge up slightly vs. just ordering directly from their website. I do like Delkevic though

Could you have use an airpressure gun to blow them clean of debree??
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
Possibly, but the slag particles were small enough, and the fact I had removed the DB Killer, I'm sure they have blown out on their own, as there isn't much they could cling to. It's just a quality control issue I think they could eliminate. Most people would care less, or even notice such things.

I forgot to ask after power commander fuel controller, etc what was your final performance increase, gas mileage etc. Appreciate you Tremonte
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
The bike isn't road ready yet. I won't have all of that info until the fairings arrive. I've only been able to ride it through my neighborhood to get some basic air/fuel ratios to start dialing the exhaust in. Full dyno's etc, will be coming in the future.

Delkevics are known to be quite noisy exhausts and without that DB killer this one must be very loud in real. Let's assume people will hear you coming now lol Great job as usual Peace!
@janiellemyers60396 жыл бұрын
Hi, Janielle from Delkevic here. I own a 2014 Ninja 650 with the mini 8" and it is loud. We have longer mufflers that are significantly quieter. A good general rule to follow with all aftermarket exhaust is the shorter the muffler, the louder it will be. Any bike with a cat will have a significant reduction in sound.

Hi Tremonte, basic question but does the Yoshi alpha require some tuning or can it just be fitted and it's good to go?

Just fit and go.

What do ya’ll mean by repack exhaust?
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
There is a heat resistant material inside of most exhausts that needs replaced after several thousand miles. Yoshimura recommends between 7-10k miles. Pretty much every aftermarket system requires a repack at some point.
@rockyflagg6 жыл бұрын
Oh snap! What is the process for that? DYI? I have the Two Brothers Exhaust.
@Tremonte6 жыл бұрын
Usually you just remove the end cone by drilling the rivets, pull the old material out, pack the new in and re-rivet the cone back. Look up Two-Brothers repack kit
