Due to the unique settings and vibration system, Delkims give you more information as to what's going on in the pond than any other bite alarm.

This is why Delkims are the best. I would not have anything else. I have had others but I have always kept my Delkims. KZbin have so many underwater clips of fish taking bait and ejecting it without even a roller registering a beep, where as a Delkims would give you a beep. If you were float fishing etc within a split second of the float bobbing under you would have strike'd , When I get a single beep on my Delkim if I'm sat on my rods I strike, If I'm in my bivvy I always move to my rods and wait for another beep, then strike If one comes, If not I reel in after 30 mins and recast just a little bit away from the original spot.

I'm looking at upgrading to delkims next spring, mainly for tench and crucian fishing, which model would you recommend ? Cheers, Paul

Depends if you need a radio or not. Ev-D would do the job and has a full range of response but limited features. If you require more features and a radio system then the only option is the Txi-D @@paullinwood5089

I can’t see that they perform any better than my Fox Mini Microns - I’ve borrowed my Sons Delkims for a few Sessions with view to buying my own Set but apart from Delkims looking a lot smarter than my Microns I don’t think I’m going to change just yet.

As ours work on vibration they pick up far more than any other alarm on the market. Fish moving in the swim or touching the lead or line. No other alarm picks this up.

I have been carp fishing since the late 60s, used them all. Once I had my Delkims I knew they were the ultimate. These days I am “attacked” for my choice. Most anglers are newbies in comparison, but on that “ accuracy and honesty” platform of social media so many say they sold theirs because they kept on failing in cold or heavy rain or such like, but NEVER that they failed to indicate a pick up. I have had my very first Txi fail on me out of a set of 4 but I have had it years. Why the longevity? Well because like all electronics I keep them dry after use. I don’t put them away wet with a plastic case on to trap the moisture inside it and store them in a damp old shed as I suspect the majority do. Treat a transistor radio that way see how long it lasts before it stops working due to internal corrosion. The biggest culprit is often battery corrosion migrating to nearby electrical contacts. So if I am not going for a while I take the battery out, wish others did the same. My experience as to why Delkims and their bite sensing system is still the best matches the expiation here in this short video. When you need it so the slightest touch can give warning, tell you to get ready. My most memorable example was fishing a hard fished commercial lake in France, not the easiest lake. On a mill pond still autumn day, mist rising, not a breath of wind, I had a single bleep at maximum sensitivity setting. I watched and waited but nothing happened. Maybe 5 minutes later there was another single bleep. I watched where the line entered the water, there wasn’t a twitch of the line at all. But I had been using my Delks enough to trust them. No other alarm would have indicated a thing. 2 bleeps and nothing developed. But I knew my alarms were trying to tell me something so I made up my mind if there was another single bleep but no obvious movement of the rod tip or lift where the line entered the water, I would strike anyway. Sure enough a while later, it may have been 15 minutes or more since that original beep, that third beep came, so trusting my alarms I picked the rod up and struck, a light judder on the rod and it bent over and I was into what turned out to be a good 40lb plus fish. I discovered there were lots of unusual gravel humps, rapid drop off on this lake and suspected the fish had taken the rig around the back of a mound where it just sat without running off, trying to shake the hook free. Fixed lead fishing by no means the most sensitive way to fish. I have no doubt my Delkims alarms caught me that fish. Any other alarm and I would have known nothing and the carp may well have shaken the hook lose with me knowing nothing about it at all. And that in a nutshell why little old me, never a “name”, never sponsored to promote any company to promote any product, living a full on working life outside of angling like many, why I will always trust in a Delkim and it’s sensory system over any other alarm. As for this “new band” of largely less experienced carpers (it would be difficult not to be so) telling my how they switched because one conked out in extreme weather so they now use Fox or something with apparently dual sensing, one the same as my Delks, is what I should do too. Many say I should be using super robust Nash alarms with “ anti line creep” sensing instead. There is no doubt competitors alarms have got much better than they once were. Nope that isn’t going to happen any time soon. If it ain’t broken don’t try to fix it. And in my experience that’s a Delk in a nutshell. Superior electronics and build quality, unrivalled sensitivity and longevity. Frankly I am still firmly in the school of liking ease of use too. I bought a set of New Direction alarms recently, amazed at the low cost for the tech and micro size, but I fried my brain frankly trying to set them up with their push button coding. As I user I hate that. I want 3 simple to access settings to change, volume, tone, sensitivity. Things I can work with a brain befuddled by lack of sleep. In addition today I want a built in alarm system due to increased tackle theft. The only button I want is one to give alarm muting to allow indicators to be set up without disturbing others. I want a strong signal to the receiver unaffected by local obstructions. I want small and light, preferably with easy to add/ remove snag ears.I want a pleasing alarm tone warble not to be confused with other modern day industrial sounds around us. I want “my sound setting” to be unique, something impossible I guess. I hate hate hate multi button pushing sequencing to set things up and an instruction manual the size of a dictionary. Not that my opinion means a thing, although 50 years of using bite alarms since the earliest Heron antenna alarms should count for something.

@@weeeeee374 Yeah right, know a troll when I hear one. I was was talking about my experience with a product, nothing about me at all. Sad the life of a troll when you have to jump in on the comments of others rather than having anything useful to add yourself with your own comment others could criticise. Pathetic and easier to jump on those of others. Stretched it this time though with an entire line didn’t you. Better have a lie down. I am sure everyone thought your “joke” was hilarious. Looks as if you like to bring attention to yourself with your little “jokes” irrelevant to the thread. The real attention seeker obvious. Sad sad sad if it rocks your boat with pathetic attempts to demean and diminish others.

Everyone thinks their bite alarms are the best. They have to say that because they own them and would probably feel an idiot if they say anything else. I have owned 4 different sets of bite Alarms, Fox, N.D. Sonik and Nash they are all good Alarms but seriously the Delkims are different class. The quality and functionality, not to mention their aesthetics are simply the best. You cannot appreciate this until you own a set. So invest in a set and I am positive you will see what I mean and agree, I am sure of that 😉 👍

I bought 4 Txi-d alarms, now tree years later 5 (yes 5) of them got broken and send back to Delkim for repair. One was changed under warranty but got broken later! If it works it’s great but it doesn’t last very long.
