I find it odd how much Del and Philip resemble each other. Then there's the cardinal bird that sits on the brother's shoulders in the papers, the scarred cardinal bird that instantly goes after Hunter, who is likely a grimwalker of the brother with his eyes matching a grimwalker's and his nose matching the brother's, and the yellow cardinal that Del has. I 100% think they're related, somehow, be it by blood or simply working with / for each other.

something else to note is that phillip is obviously the younger brother aka the one with the pony tail were as we have yet to see the presumably older brother aka the one without a ponytail that hunter resembles so it could be that the brother separated Philip becoming belos but back then making the door were ass the older brother went on to start the clawthorne bloodline I feel like this would make sense for the clawthrones affinity with birds(birds that may I add we never see in the boiling isles) however I could also be completely wrong and the clawthrons are just damn good palismen makers that know a lot about birds

Dell has the same energy as Klaus from the movie Klaus. Melancholic, warm-hearted, deeply caring, but maybe Dell's a bit more extroverted & not so scary. I also suspect, he's left handed- a trait often associated with good handcraft skills & creativity.

theory...this is not Philip but his brother....I noticed that whenever anyone else refers to him as Phillip he responds by cleverly side stepping it instead of someone responding to their name... also when we were introduced to Philip he seemed to only care about getting home but the one we are shown shows disinterest in going back home...as for the clawthorn connection, In the news paper we are shown the brothers n on one of them is wat looks like little rascal,I submit that the witch the brothers first met was a clawthorn

something else i realized was the clawthorns palismen in general, palismen that arent native to the boiling isles what so ever. the (presumably) older brother being the beginning of the clawthorn bloodline could also make since maybe the older brother (ill be referring to him as ob) got into palismen making not only as a way to not be broke on the boiling isles but because his younger brother Phillip (if that's his real name) had gotten into something that he shouldn't have that made it so he had to consume the strange green mist in palismens but I feel like as Phillip grew to hate the boiling isles ob began to love it embracing its culture putting a rift between the two brothers ob eventually leaving and maybe even starting the clawthorn lineage

I don't think it was Dell, but I can see one of the Clawthorne's ancestors building the door. I've also seen people thinking that Belos's brother got involved with the Clawthornes. Maybe even getting married to one of their ancestors. I have considered the idea of Belos's brother having taken the door and buried it. The last one I'm starting to have doubts, as the brother may have died at Eclipse Lake. But maybe he survived.

I think it's more likely that King's ancestors helped make the portal. The eye is a symbol that has repeatedly been associated with them (especially because the one in the wall carving at King's castle has a huge eye on its chest) so I don't think the eye being used in the portal is a coincidence. It also appears on the wagon that King's relative (the one who is currently living) lives in. That isn't to say that Dell didn't have a role in it, it would explain why it was so close to the Clawthorne's house and why Dell was going to the mandible in Knock Knock Knockin' on Hooty's door, but I think the primary key to it's construction was one of King's ancestors. Perhaps this is the "horrifying truths and revelations" mentioned in the episode summary for Edge of The World?

I think the collector told Philip everything and how it was gonna go down and he’s just been doing what the collector has been telling him. I have a potential theory for "The Owl House," could Luz (and humans in general) possibly be something of an amplifier for magic cast by witches? The reason I bring this up is because some of the most impressive feats (outside of Eda's) were performed with Luz either being directly involved or in close proximity to the spell being cast. Do you find this theory plausible or am I just finding something where there is nothing?

I'm on board with the idea that Dell (and hence Eda and Lilith) is descended from Philip's brother. My reason for thinking this is still similarity between the markings on the ceiling of the Owl House (shown in episode 1 but again in this episode for a few frames after the echo mouse stops projecting) and the ones in the Gravesfield museum. If the tower / Owl House originally belonged to Dell that would make a lot of sense.

My thought is the door originally belonged to the witch who first brought Philip and his brother to the Boiling Isles, and Philip has been trying to recreate that door. Though the Philip we met didn’t seem focused on getting the door working, but instead seeking The Collector to help him fulfill the Day of Unity. It’s possible Philip, rather than be over 400 years old, fell through a time pool at some point after Lilith and Luz met him to emerge 50 years prior to Luz’s arrival when he became Belos. That would explain how he just vanished without a trace and Belos showed up out of nowhere.

I have a theory that eda's father and other palisman carvers exist not only because of their talent but also because they would know what to carve for someone since he helped eda and lilith who have an owl and a raven (those birds are natural enemies and eda and lilith are often depicted as polar opposites and they have a rivalry between them) and probably the abominations track teacher who a flying abomination which would represent his passion of abominations and why he resents willow for leaving his class or the principal with his palisman helping him to see. So palisman carvers are there cuz they would know what to make for a specific person as it's more suitable than letting a teen carve whatever is cool rn.

Dell actually kinda looks like Philip's brother in a way. You could argue that Philip's brother already died and is human. But hear me out, what if Dell was a descendant of Philip's brother, that what if the Brother had a child with a witch before he died and Dell could be his Son or Grandson. Given that Dell's ears are more pointy and witchlike, maybe his mother had a stronger pointy Ear Gene? or the ears was just developed over time, like Philip's ears became a little bit pointy as he became Belos.

I don't get it, the timeline is weird. Eda is supposed to be in her mid 40s. In the flashback when she attacked him, she did not look 20...she looked more like 15 or something. Probably an error. A thought occurred to me. If you look closely at the end results scene of the attack in Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty’s Door Dell’s hands both seem perfectly functional as he holds both up to his face, and instead of one being massively scared it looks like they were both just scratched up a bit though that could only be because we see the back of his hands not the palm. Perhaps that scene wasn’t the only time she attacked her father. Perhaps sometime after she found the portal somewhere in her mid twenties she became the Owl Beast again and that’s when she scarred his arm. That would explain some of the time discrepancies.

She probably talked to him a bit after that, plus there was probably a second attack since Dell's hand didn't seem to be as extensively damaged as it is now. The kind of tremor he has requires severe nerve damage which the first attack definitely did not give him.

Theory: Belos is trying to pull the boiling isles into the human world to deprive witches of magic. Sigil magic didn’t work perhaps because of the lack of ambient magic in the human world. What if witch’s lose their magic organ in time some generations without ambient magic, or their bodies can’t replenish their fluids in a magic void.

I think it might be a possibility that Hunter could either be the Grimwalker of Phillip's brother or Hunter could be the son of Phillip's brother and a witch the was revived as a Grimwalker. Emperor Belos could have intentionly destroyed Hunter's bile sack and lied to him about his family being gone and not being born with magic for years.

This is probably completely wrong but I'm personally settled on the theory that Dell is infact Phillip's brother or a relative of Phillip(and by extension Eda). It could be that rather than Phillip desiring to get back home at any cost(even immortality), his brother accepted it and had a family, possibly even disowning Phillip upon realizing his actions. Phillip ends up slaughtering his brother(or his family and thinking he also got his brother) out of frustration/the glyph curse acting up, makes a grimwalker many years later and that's where Hunter comes in to be a replacement brother clone. The thing being that if Dell is Phillip's brother it's weird that he isn't using artificial magic(not that it's show or anything but he obviously has a palisman staff and not the high tec staffs) and seems like you can't just develop a bile sac over time so Dell is obviously a witch as far as we know, but I personally think Dell might be related to Phillip's brother, most likely Witches and Humans can have children. This obviously isn't a perfect theory. EDIT: Another key point is looking at Dell's outfit when he's about to head off for the Mandible, it's similar to the jacket as Phillip's in "Elsewhere and Elsewhen" just a little more patched up, lacks the buttons, and well doesn't have the formal attire it covers up on Phillip, it could be a hand-me-down from years ago, or replicated in honor of Phillip's brother.

If it needs a witch's organ, then only their magic gland attached to their heart would make sense. And suppose palistrom wood as the actual material of the door would make sense as well. Actually maybe that means the door Luz is ultimately going to make, could become her palisman? Which would make a lot of sense, with all the palismans picking a new owner based on similar personality trait. Luz being essentially stuck in wanting to both stay in the boiling isles and going back to her mother, would make a portal palisman the best one for her. As a literal representation of her! ^^

Omg I think that dell is belos/Philips brother bc they look kinda similar and in yesterdays lie, in the town they had statues of Philip and his brother (looks kinda like a young version of dell) and in a book in the historical center they had Philip and his bro standing next to a witch and the bro had a bird on his shoulder (dells palisman is a yellow bird and it looks almost identical to hunters palisman) hunters bird was abused by a previous owner so dell probably carved him bc that’s what he did for a living and then eda attacked him as the owl beast by accident. @@Transgonder that’s always possible but even though Philip was from like the 1600s he came into power only like 60-70 years ago (he ended the period of wild magic when he came to power) so it’s possible he time travelled into the future when he came through the portal at eclipse lake in the first place.
