On Dell's technical specs for this laptop, it specifically says only the model with the rtx 3060 has 3 usb 3.2 gen 1 ports. All other models have 2 usb 2.0 and 1 usb 3.2 gen 1 port.

@@bapynshngain nope, you can actually just look at the symbols next to the USB port itself. a little "ss" symbol is USB 3.0+ with the symbol itself literally meaning "super speed". And I'm sure you know what the standard USB symbol looks like. That's just used for USB standards below 3.0

I want them to bring back screw-in screen bezels sO BADLY, The reason my Acer AN515-55 Nitro broke was because of the CLIP-ON BEZEL, I dropped it like 2 or 3 times, once on the carpet, and the rest in the laptop bag iirc. It had 2 cracks in it, I glued it because 2 of the clips BROKE when I dropped it the first time, and just today the anchors holding the hinges to the back of the screen BROKE, causing the screen to FALL APART, and that was during me trying to REPLACE THE BEZEL. I am now the proud owner of a G15 as of April 13th. I will be adding my D:\ drive to this PC, was pissed about the apparent clips on the bottom, but I don't care that much, because there are still 8 screws on the bottom as they said...

I second this too I upgraded the ram of my g15 today and the service manual said to unplug the battery but it was damn near impossible it looked like I was gonna tear it so I just upgraded the ram without unplugging the battery and in this video it looked so effortlessly so maybe there's something wrong with our battery connectors

Yeah mine to its just tooo tight. I tried pushing the plastic head from a non metalic tweezer but no success it was feeling so tight so I just used a brush and cleaned the fans from the visible sides

There isn't one ssd that will work best, but you'll need a m.2 pcie x4 (2280) ssd. You could use a Samsung 980 SSD for example.

Looking at this on amazon: Kingston FURY Impact 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 CL20 Laptop Memory. Comparing it to what's on Dell - there is no mention of these sticks being "NON-ECC" - look for something else? **UPDATE** - Contacted Kingston and verified with Dell: KCP432SS8/16 is compatible with this laptop. Their gaming "FURY" series is not compatible.

from what I have researched and been told all gaming laptops are soldered in. No plug and play like an actual computer tower and the risks of ruining the board are high if you were to do so. There are some laptops out there that allow changing of processor and graphics card but I am sure the boards get outdated fast since everything seems to be moving forward little by little with improved parts

Depending what one you have pretty sure its 1x 8gb. Ive always been told its not ideal to use two different sizes, so you would probably want to go another 8 for 16 or two 16gbs

Unless you're doing quantum mechanics type of things on the laptop you don't NEED 64gb. 32 is the LOGICAL max. (that's why they ALL say that)
