Not to be rude in any way but it's not the brand new variant, it came out over a year ago, the newest variant is the G15 5520. I bought this laptop from you (Evetech) around end January this year and I'm really happy with it. The AMD Radeon Software was a pain in the ass since Windows' update service kept overwriting the new drivers from the software with older OEM versions but found a workaround for this. The performance is great and found it to be better in a lot of situations at 1440p to utilize the GPU more. Have spent a lot at Evetech and the service has been great everytime. Just wish they could hook me up with a monitor for my continued support. 🤣

How do you remove the "wattage limit" that you mentioned in the description?? My gpu is always stuck on 30W by default, after restarting a couple of times it gets to 50-60W, which is way less than the actual 95W of the card.

You need to go into the Alienware software and set the fan there and then in Windows there's a power setting that is only accessible on the start bar for some or other Microsoft reason. Click on the power icon on the bottom right and set to best performance and that should give you full speed.

Hardware Unboxed was saying there are two different 3050 versions, a 35W (previously called Max Q) and 80W. Been waiting to hear back from support on which one this unit uses

@@MeticulousTechTV its 95 watts in my unit now I can confirm that. A bios update fixed the 30w issue. It goes up to ~90 easily on every game now.

There is also a registry edit out there that will make windows ignore the power limits. Had to do it on my Alienware. Search around for it

If you game on battery the wattage is limited if you plug in there's no limit

Very nice review. I just found your channel. I have the Ryzen 7 5800H + RTX 3060 + 165 hz screen version. Its a beast. I can play Red Dead Redemption 2 on my 4K tv plugged into this laptop and get a playable framerate. You should try to get your hands on that configuration. The screen on the 120Hz version is a bit of a let down but the 165hz version screen gets brighter has a better response time and the colours look a lot better. You are certainly right about the laptop better than consoles thing btw, with the scalper prices being charged and all the extra features a laptop presents, it was a no-brainer for me to pick it over the PS5, sure the PS5 can do 4k60FPS without any stutters but so can this with a lot more to offer.

@@turbotortoisetech The 165hz screen supposedly goes upto 300 nits but from what other youtubers have tested, it gets brighter than that. Also the LGD067E panel (the one in the 165 hz version) is the same one used in alienware m15r5 I believe and has a minimum response time of 3ms and maximum response time of 13ms. In my opinion, the difference because of the specs between these two configurations is quite huge and the highest spec version ryzen edition is one of the best laptops which came out in 2021.

PS5 can do 4K/60 witch checkerboard upscaling. Only Xbox Series X can do 4K/60 in couple titles. In graphical power PS5 is something similar to RTX 3060/3060Ti and bit slower than RX6700 XT. Not a 4K beast it want to be seen as. Laptop is a good choice over console if you want bit more than just gaming.

I’m looking at X14 but in terms of value G15 beats it big time. Only disadvantage apart build quality is that you are not getting windows hello feature.

Depends on your use case. For design and gaming the ASUS probably but more gaming focused then probably the G15

Hello there, I'm having problems with my Nvidia control panel as it only gives me 3D settings, thus I can't increase the saturation on my system. Is there anyway you know to fix this? Thanks for the great review got mine early this year.

Install the GeForce experience with the latest driver and then everything should be there in the control panel as per norm. This unit also came out the box with a driver like that

It's not a thunderbolt USB-C, thats still proprietary intel tech and only on intel CPU based laptops. This one has a USB-C display port with alt mode hence the DP logo on the port. This is also NOT an IPS panel, it is a TN panel which is inferior to IPS. Now i'm really doubting your reviewing credibility and won't waste my time watching the rest of this video.

Should be absolutely fine especially if you get the 3060 variant that will run literally anything no issues. You will even be able to stream off of the laptop then as well!
