Just bought a G16 (strongly advise not to buy one). Right out off the box there is a very high pitched ear piercing fan noise (worst at medium speed). I am returning it. To me, Dell used to be an outstanding reliable company. Not sure what happened to their quality control.

When I had a 7567, I had electricity problem on my condominium and motherboard went to trash. Send to their center, they took it and money, after a month they asked if I wanted to wait till *2050* or my money back. Dell is a joke and I was considering buy it.

Are you sure you're reading the temperature correctly? You claim it's at 95° when the first column, but most of all the big indicator in the command center, report 45°. It has hit a max of 95° at some time, but not all the time, that's how HWMonitor shows temps.

There's an option akin to "Turn on when the lid is opened" in the BIOS, under the option that enables the lid switch. Turn it off

Honestly speaking, I will stay far away from Dell gaming laptops (hell even their "gaming" desktops!). The first thing is I think Dell has very bad thermal design. And the next thing is Dell has very bad drivers update support. Last but not least the Alienware Command Centre is pretty useless as your pointed out. This is coming from an owner of a Dell G15 SE with AMD Ryzen 5 4600H and RX 5600M only. It will be my first and probably last Dell laptop in awhile. I just think that Dell wanna have good exterior aesthetics but cheap out on everything else.

I would look at the Lenovo Legion and Maybe Acer Predator Helios, buy the one with the highest level GPU, and don't worry about memory and storage, as you can upgrade those easily.

I'm also looking at a Lenovo on eBay for 1400 ..it has a Ryzen 9 6900hx though and they are about 15-20% slower than the i7 and i9 12th gens ... They are better on battery life .. I wanted to spend like 1400-1600 on a 3070 ti laptop. I prefer Intel but what do you think? That Lenovo on eBay is worth it imo. I was just looking to see what I could have found close to it with an Intel processor.. came across this Dell on eBay. What do you think about the Lenovo? It's like 1440 but with a Ryzen 9 ... so, seriously, you spend about 3 full minutes talking about keyboard, and you just point and hover over it, never touching or typing on it.. I notice so many reviewers just blab about keyboards, rarely any really touching and typing, let alone pressing different sides of keyboard to examine the amount of flex.. I swear I am under impression you get paid not to do it, otherwise potential buyers will see basically a trampoline of a keyboard.. I can almost recreate Grand Canyon when pressing on some some laptop keyboards, such is difference between firm keys and others which just sink basically to the bottom of the chassis.. horrible..

I know and respect the fact we all use our devices in different way, for different purpose.. yes, Legion seems really nice, and almost always Lenovo keyboards are more firm and minimal flexing.. Must ask you, you game a lot, at home or office? is gaming PC and bigger actual monitor not a better choice for extensive gaming than a gaming laptop? I understand that most of the times gaming laptops are for casual gamers who need to be mobile, as students or contractors who often move around and travel, so it is convenient to have gaming capable laptop..

@@shitmir Yes absolutely, if you don't game much outside of the house or on the road, gaming Desktop is making more sense. I use my laptop only when traveling or when I need to move to a different room in the house for a short period of time.
