Hey i have the same laptop, my screen starts flickering when i change refresh rate to 40hz and no flicker but slightly dim at 60hz. What could be the issue??

Hi very nice video, i have a question though, i have this model and everytime i touch the laptop or move the screen lid it flickers on the screen, and also then the laptop crashes switching itself off because of it, what can be the problem? Thanks in advance

So, I bought your replacement cable and your video helped me install it easily. It has worked really well for nearly 1.5 years, but now the screen is starting to fritz out again. Is it just me, or it just a REALLY bad design to have that cable threaded through the hinge??? It's not an expensive repair, but it really seems like I shouldn't have to replace the cable every 1.5 years! ::heads over to order a new one::
@dellpartspeople6 жыл бұрын
I agree! It's a terrible design, yet almost every laptop runs the cable right next to, or wrapped around one of the hinges. Some laptops are worse than others. I'm sorry you have to do this repair again.

Is there a design problem with this laptop, I have one here where the screen goes fuzzzy white depending on how open the lid is? Also thanks for making this it's nice that all the connectors u under they keyboard are the same sort
@dellpartspeople10 жыл бұрын
That sounds like the LCD cable maybe breaking or starting to break. It runs by the hinge so opening and closing the lid could effect the connectivity.

Parts-People.Com, Inc Dell have done a really good job on the serviceability of this chassis, all the top ribbon cables have the same easy connect socket and are marked with a line so you know you have them fully in. There is none of the myriad of different screw lengths also. Thanks for the video it was very precise

Hi I have the same laptop model. A few days ago the screen was not working: it had two black spots and I couldn't see any image. I bought a new screen and changed it. Now when I turn it on the screen is all black and the computer makes a beeping noise. Do you think I have to change the lcd cable? (Maybe I put too much pressure when changing the screen). Do you have any other suggestion?
@dellpartspeople10 жыл бұрын
Do you see any image? Even a very dim one? The beeps might be caused by a loose cable connection. i would try re-seating the LCD cable first.

If anyone sees my question and can help, Of me very grateful. I don't care about my very old Dell laptop (it has a bad display cable) and just want to be able to get my stuff off of it. Is there an easy way to get the display onto my TV screen in order to do so? I remember back when I first got the laptop, in order to have it display on my TV, there was a setting on the laptop itself that I had to change. Obviously I wouldn't be able to do that now since I can't see anything on the laptop screen. Is there some sort of cable that one could use without having to change any settings on the laptop, and get it on my TV screen? Thank you so much.
@dellpartspeople Жыл бұрын
If your laptop has an HDMI port then I would use an HDMI cable to connect to a TV display. Without having the benefit of seeing your situation first hand, this would be my default solution.

My screen keeps freezing and blacking/whiting out. I use to be able to fix this by bending the screen and pressing around it in different places. Now it's fully gone and the only thing that gets it working is by bending and holding it in the right corner. Do you think this is a screen issue or an LCD cable issue? Hopefully it's not the motherboard but it doesn't seem like it to me as bending the screen in different places wouldn't change that. I image it's just a connector issue yes?
@dellpartspeople9 жыл бұрын
kieran cherrington I've seen those symptoms more frequently with a bad screen. It could still be a bad cable or cable connection but I usually see that with a screen.
@1000ouija9 жыл бұрын
Parts-People.Com, Inc well I think I may try the cable first as I can get one fairly cheap. If that doesn't work then a new screen is what will have to be dome. At least it seems very easy to fit. Especially for a computer science student like myself.. Lol Thanks for the help! :)

my dell 15 r laptop screen sometime change color patches in screen and whole screen is lite blue
@dellpartspeople8 жыл бұрын
Is it the only the screen or does it happen on an external monitor too? If it's only the screen, then the screen need to be replaced. If it happens on an external monitor also, then it's probably a bad GPU and the motherboard will need to be replaced.

hi: how do i know if the lcd cable is my problem. I have the same laptop and have a white screen from the moment i turn it on.
@dellpartspeople10 жыл бұрын
Usually, if the LCD cable is the problem there will be noticeable damage to the cable (typically around the hinges), or, the image on the screen will change as you open or close the lid. If you don't see anything like that, then you probably have a bad screen or bad GPU. Try hooking up an external monitor, if it shows an all white screen, then the GPU is probably bad. If the image is good with the external monitor, then it's probably a bad screen.
@RyzalThijssen10 жыл бұрын
Parts-People.Com, Inc Thanks for your speedy reply. ok. I can still adjust the brightness of the white screen with the keyboard. I have hooked up a data projector through HDMI cable and I was able to get image. At first it was a bit flashy and then after a minute it was all good and i could operate as usual. So what do you think my problem is? The LCD cable maybe lose or the screen? Not the gpu as i get an image output. Would it be an idea to open up the laptop as in your video? I live in Costa Rica... so ordering a part is a different ball game and research and troubleshooting is very important before i order anything. Thanks!
@dellpartspeople10 жыл бұрын
Ryzal Thijssen I think you're right. Check the cable and make sure it's not loose and that there is no obvious damage. If the cable is plugged in and looks good, then I think the screen is the problem and it will need to be replaced.
@RyzalThijssen10 жыл бұрын
Parts-People.Com, Inc ok i will open the laptop... and see what's up. But can a screen just damage like that just happen from one second to the other? As i was working when happened. In the second week of ownership they have replaced the motherboard. After that i had only one usb output working. A couple of days after I moved to Costa Rica so couldn't go back to the shop.. and maybe the lcd screen plug was touched and needs a push in.(hopefully) Any ideas about those usb plugs not working? (the ss usb one at the back and the one at the right. Only the one at the left works... Thanks!

Parts-People.Com, Inc I have opened the laptop, no damage detected, unplugged the lcd cable, plugged it back in, closed laptop accordingly and still white screen. So do i need a screen replacement or a lcd cable replacement?

+ali zaara 2 beeps is a memory fault. Try reseating the memory, it might have come loose with the fall.
