FYI, I know this is an old video, but one thing you said was mount the ssd with two sided tape. I have this same machine and bought an inexpensive 3.5" to 2.5" tray witch then mounts normally in the same space and screw openings.

Hi, yes you can and motherboard only have 2 SATA ports that means you will no longer use DVD drive.

I don't know if you'll still see this, but can you maybe do a quick tutorial on how to get the GPU going? I tried out two different GPUs (one GTX 750Ti and one GTX 1060) with a 400w power supply, neither of them worked, PC booted up to Dell logo and then froze, while mainboard made one beep noise every minute or so. The GPUs work fine on a different PC and the Dell works fine with only the onboard GPU. I can't find any settings in BIOS to disable the onboard card. Have you encountered the same problem as well?

This is impossible to do so unless you out it outside of the case you can unscrew the power supply from then hard drive but a normal psu might not fit in that tiny space would reccomend getting a new case there are some on amazon that are 59.99$ USD

I am so glad to have found this video; so well done. My sister had this very same system and asked me find out why it wasn't working. After doing several different diagnostics it came down to the hard drive had died. Now she doesn't want it back and the system is really clean. So I want to upgrade memory, cpu (it is currently a Celeron), and an SSD. But I cannot find (and I have done a whole lot of research but maybe I am just missing out on the obvious) the memory voltage. Is it 1.5v or 1.35v? Some boards can do both. Can someone please tell me the memory voltage for this board? Thanks. Two other questions: Has anyone successfully installed an SSD with Windows 10? Does the system recognize SSD's? Heh. Just stick an old 2nd or 3rd gen i5 for cheap, then throw in 8gb used ram cheaply on eBay and then a good ol HD 7750 cheaply and you'll have a great experience with it. Did this myself and I might as well throw in a GTX 1050ti once I find a job since I'm in college.

Don't get the 1050. It's a dual-slot card, and it doesn't fit in the 660s. I learned that the hard way, believe me. I'd reccomend getting the GT 1030, since it's pretty much the best single-slot card you can find

@Snork Town A 1030 might cut it close, but you should be fine. Most single slot cards don't use much power anyways, and quite literally anything will blow the integrated graphics out of the water. Hell, I put a Radeon HD 7570 in my 660s somewhere down the line (those are worth about $20-40 on Ebay), and I believe it's about twice as fast as the iGPU, according to UserBenchmark

The power supply for this system is set at 220W as per Dell. Believe me I have researched a lot looking for something in the 300-350 range but was unable to find anything because the power supply design is proprietary to fit the slimline design.

The 220 watt psu is the limit for this system. My research found no power supply that offered more than 220.As per Nvidia the minimum system requirement is 300 watts for both cards.

I don't think a GTX750ti will fit (it takes up dual-card slot). I upgraded my Dell 660s to a Zotac GT1030 Low Profile (single-slot card) more than a year ago and its still running fine. Do take note of the brands, some may take up dual-slots, whereas the SFF only allows for single-slot cards. If you're planning to get a GT1030, get the GDDR5 variant (DO NOT BUY THE GDDR4 variant, its a scam).

My Dell 660's psu says "Do Not Exceed 100 watts" and I bought a VisionTek Radeon HD7750 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (Yes I know this would not fit but I modded the case to make it fit) Anyways the GPU worked for a couple days then I took the gpu out of the pci slot cause I got a pci adapter for it so it would fit, then once i tested that the fan spinned on the gpu for like 2 seconds then stopped and the computer does not recognize the GPU (Did the same thing even when not on the pci adapter), I think it is the psu but it worked the first two days (I tested it on another computer with a non certified 250 watt psu and the gpu did the same thing. If you have any ideas on what could be wrong please help!, Best Regards Evan.

I believe the MB is a micro ATX format, but to be sure, check your mount points. I pulled my 660s apart about 5 years ago and rebuilt it into a full sized 19" rack mount case, w/ a 2nd 1TB HD and full size 400W PS. Runs great.

i had the same problem ,so you connect it to a compputer that already has windows then manke it gdui or somthing like that then install the ssd in the pc and see if that works

Hi I’m going to upgrade a graphics card in my dell optiplex 780 dt and I’ll will need to upgrade my power supply to 300w or over to run the upgraded graphic card can any 1 here help getting the upgrade power supply that will fit my optiplex 780 dt
