I like that you show the viewer how to change the insides while talking about the insides. Usually reviewers just say "you can change this, you change that" without ever showing the inside structure thoroughly. Thanks for a really comprehensive and easy to understand video!

@Devon Connelly - hello and thanks for the video. After using the system, did you find the heat from it to be uncomfortable or bothersome? I know this video is almost a year old now, but I am interested in these systems. I'm ready to get rid of my towers for something cooler and more efficient.
@DevonConnelly5 жыл бұрын
Michael thanks for the question. Both all-in-ones put off some heat via their respective exhaust but nothing that made me uncomfortable during use. For me the fan noise was more intrusive than the actual heat being emitted. While it's not terribly loud, it's there and you'll notice it. Hope that helps. Their great AIO's. I've had the 7775 model for 20 months now and it's been a workhorse for me. Can't go wrong with either. Take care.

Devon, This is up for $900 on Dell's outlet. My only concern is the GPU which only says "Intel HD Graphics". It's an 8 gen i5-8400T with 8GB of memory. I cannot upgrade the GPU ,correct? Thanks for your time! (Good job ignoring the haters of this video!)
@DevonConnelly5 жыл бұрын
I just looked at that Felix and yeah it looks like it's only intel HD graphics and you are correct it cannot be upgraded. Thank you.

Thanks for the review, I'm not into gaming but considering the 4 K panel of previous model I think I will go for it (although I like the placement of the new camera more) Do you have any idea if they will release a 4K version of the new model?

After 5 long years I'm finally setting my 7777 to rest. Having the 8th gen I7 and gtx1050 configuration with 16gb of ram my experience was... interesting. Pros. The screen is nice for an LCD panel. Replacing the hard drive and ssd was painless which was nice. The hard drive caddy used in the system even works on any hard drive or sata ssd, not just wierd oem stuff. The sd card reader was a nice feature. Cons. I found the cooling solution to be inadequate, even with frequent cleaning and new thermal paste I found the cpu would constantly thermal throttle under an intense load, with the gpu not far behind, temperatures ranging from 80 to 100 degrees!! I think the main reason for this is the tiny fan and copper heat pipes, almost like it was taken from a mid range laptop. Compared to the previous year's model, it was not able to pull in enough air to satisfy the heat output of the system. Not to mention the motherboard being contained inside a metal shell! Allowing for no air flow! And practically hotboxing the gpu, cpu, ram, and boot drive! Eventually the only way I found to satisfy the machine was to take the plastic shell off and aim a desk fan at the back of the system. While useful, the hdmi input left a lot to be desired, with no options to use any sound output other than the system's sub-par speakers. Its io also left me wanting more, with only 3 usb 3.1 ports, the rest being usb 2.0. When disassembling the machine I found it to be over complicated, especially if you want to access anywhere past the motherboard, hard drive and fan. With it having an irritating amount of ribbon and flex cables, and varying sizes and depths of screws between you and any other part of the machine, such as all of the io, the speakers, or the camera. The bios gave no option to disable the integrated graphics, or configure the speed of the ram. It also gave no option to disable secure boot, this was actually hidden in, not the windows boot menu, but a second SECRET boot menu!! The operating system that comes preinstalled insisted on setting every program to run using the igpu. The only way I later found to disable the igpu was through installing linux, and disabling it through the terminal using nvidia optimus. The ram was laptop grade, you think they at least could've fit some full sized ram with all that free space. Or a bigger fan The dell bloatware that came with the system also had a massive problem, backing up the same system files in the background constantly. Eventually filling my hdd and boot ssd in a matter of weeks, almost locking me out of my system as it didn't have the storage to function! I could literally watch the megabytes tick down!! It does not have a gtx1050, it has a gtx1050 mobile. This was not mentioned anywhere when I bought the system. At the end of it all am I happy with this system? No. Its cooling setup is not adequate. Its "1050" is actually a laptop gpu. It came with broken bloatware. Its bios is unnecessarily restrictive and overcomplicated. At the time of me purchasing it, if I were to have built my own system with the same specifications and a 1080p monitor, it would've been cheaper. This aio was not worth the hefty price, alongside its myriad of unnecessary restrictions and issues bringing it down further. Stay away from this system.

Is editing video on a HD screen (as opposed to 4K screen) still good? I have the AMD version but it’s not working and they are offering replacement for the intel one but it’s not a 4K screen nor the graphics card is 4GB less.

I have the inspiron 7777 and I have an i5 8th gen cpu. I am wondering about what the advantages and disadvantages of my cpu compared to the i7?
@Mattiu756 жыл бұрын
Nice review, thanks! I agree the new version represents a step back to the previous one in terms of CPU and GPU performance, especially for the graphic compartment which really represents a deal breaker for the most demanding games players. I'm wondering the reason why they decided so (heating issues with the Ryzen+RX combination?), expecting at least a GTX 1060 to be a configuration option to replace the previous 570/580 offering, especially considering the missing Thunderbolt spec for the USB type C port which doesn't allow to adopt any external graphic solution. Not to mention the missing 4K display option. This AIO from Dell is for sure a well designed solution, most likely the best compromise on the market at the moment, but it is sadly missing at least 3 most appealing options to be considered the perfect desktop replacement! Maybe the next round...

The 7775 was not easily up-gradable! I have one. The RX580 is soldered to motherboard. Dell refuses to update the bios to allow Ryzen 2. Why does every single review say easy to upgrade? Its a lie. You are stuck on ryzen 1700 forever.
