No there is no chance of failure in caddy. Yes you can install both SSD or HDD. That's a good option which we have it for 2 hard drives.

First boot up the bios then go to the bios- system setting there change the boot up list i.e. first usb drive - then m.2 sata ssd - internal hdd - disellet disk . after that choose the ss for windows installation and then just install windows.

Sir Ram Frequency can be check in Task manager and SSD can install in all Laptops just the difference is your laptop has M.2 slot for M.2 SSD or not, otherwise you can install SATA SSD. For SATA SSD you have to remove HDD and install SSD.

If you install SSD your laptop will work 10 time faster then your HDD. Don't install SSD in DVD drive side ( means caddy) because you won't get the speed. That's wrong if you install SSD in DVD drive side ( caddy)

Best place is in place of system HDD. Difference is caddy between SSD and motherboard coz all speed then matters in caddy. Connector are SATA-2

you'll easily find one on amazon/flipkart or local computer accessories store. Make sure about the height of the caddy. like 9.5 mm or 12 mm.

You have to do same as you have seen in this video SSD + HDD in caddy , you can use SATA SSD of Samsung brand. It doesn't have NVMe SSD option.
