Useful to see all that. Thank you. But a question. I never saw it ask you to set up your finger print scanner for signing in. I thought this had not only a pin or facial recognition sign in but also a start button that could sign you in with your fingerprint. Doesn't it offer that? Maybe it's the new 9730 that does?

Thanks! Yes, it lets you set up fingerprint sign in as well. I just haven't done so yet.

The only major issue I had with the replacement unit is ghost clicking occurring with the display, which got worse and worse with time. But Dell sent in a tech to replace the display promptly.

This is my fourth Dell computer (third laptop). Despite the initial fail with this one, I remain a loyal Dell consumer, so long as after-sales support continue to be satisfactory, as it was in this case. My desktop had an issue as well, with the power supply, a few years back, and Dell sent a technician over to fix it. I still think Dell generally produces excellent products, notwithstanding the occasional "lemons".

it means that one of he system drivers doesnt work good or needs reinstalling . mostly it happens with display drivers nothing special. unfortunately a lot of people do not know that system needs to be update with its drivers .

Possibly, but they did reinstall the OS, which didn't help. Dell did end up just replacing the unit. So my best guess is still some kind of hardware issue.

a question, dose you counter any heat problem while using the laptop and for the battery life, how much did it take ??

The battery does seem to drain relatively quickly, but it lasts long enough for me. Nice thing about these PCs is, unlike with the Mac, you can always open it up and replace/upgrade certain internal components, including the battery if it should ever come to that. As for any heat issue, nothing that seems overly concerning. I find the fan to be a little loud though when it fires up.

@@viscangenxers thank u so much for you response i just want mention that about the loud fans you can fix that by updating you drivers, and i read that it fix that problem for lot of people.

How did you get them to replace the defective laptop?

You contact Dell tech support. They will determine if it's repairable, if not, will initiate a system exchange at no cost to you.
