I've been wrestling with a new build: Ryzen 3 5300GE, Asrock A520 mATX mobo, 32GB DDR4-3600, 1TB M.2. It doesn't want to install Win 11 23h2 or 24h2 even after returning the drive and getting a different one (returned a WD for a PNY at Walmart). Apparently the missing cache thing is a real problem on these drives and Win 11 is like, nope, gonna crash the installer now. Bazzite and Lubuntu went on with no issue.

any difference between this RX 6500 and any of the RX 6400 LP ? I've got a fairly new optiplex sff computer and was thinking of doing the same thing and have it in the living room for some co-op gaming but not sure which GPU to go for.
@itggear2 күн бұрын
It seems slightly different, and while I can't tell with the naked eye, the RX 6500 does have more cores than the RX 6400.

As for bazzite os, this Linux distribution cannot be run on all PCs, as there were memory problems during installation and this os takes a very long time to install, unlike Windows. A test PC is on which I tried to install this OS, this is my old PC on an ASUS P8h61-i motherboard with an i7 3770 cpu.

Hi there! It's not too difficult to install Windows 11 on unsupported PCs. There are various guides and methods available to help users with the process. I've posted a video about setting up a Linux gaming PC for those interested in running Linux on their old PCs for gaming. It's a great alternative for those wanting to explore new possibilities. I've also shared videos on upgrading old PCs for gaming and running Windows OS. Trying a Linux OS can be an interesting experiment to see how it differs from Windows. I've covered the topic of installing Windows 11 on old PCs in previous videos. This new video focuses on running a Linux OS on an old PC for variety and to explore new options. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

Hi mate your videos are very inspiring for all the community of modders, I love to see every video about case mods and SFF PCs, I have one HP SFF with a I5 6500 just thinking what's the best option for a GPU.. 1080p games gonna be enough for me... Cheers mate and thank you for very nice videos

Do these Xeon coolers fit on the versions that come with an i5 from the factory? I've been trying to figure out a better option for a CPU cooler in these, though I have a newer one with a 12th gen in (3260). I'm not sure if you've messed around with the 3260 era, but if anyone would know/have clever solutions to CPU cooler upgrades, it's you.

Great video and great to see another system saved from landfill as Microsoft 'decides' it is 'not suitable' for Windows 11. How do you get the fps overlay on the games?

For non-ECC RAM with the i7-7700K, I installed it as you suggested, and it worked fine. However, when I changed the CPU back to its original Xeon and installed the ECC RAM in the white slots (1 and 2), a yellow light blinks on the power button LED.

Otherwose you have to try to remesh it and that doesnt always work. Id really appreciate it. Ive taken a lot of inspiration from your videos and im not really good at 3d design. Lol. Itd help a lot

You lose freesync with the dp-hdmi adapter tho right?
@itggearКүн бұрын
Sorry, I don't have knowledge about that. Let me research and get back to you later. All I know is that the adapter supports HDMI 2.0, which is the same as the monitor. HDMI 2.0 supports 1080p at 240Hz and 4K at 60Hz 8-bit. This monitor is only 1080p at 180Hz, so I don't think there's anything to lose.

I dont get how your gpu is getting enough power. That slot only supplies 25w and the 6500 requires 75w

It is a Steam Proton and Vulkan problem for some games only. As you can see, it happens with Resident Evil 4 only, while other games show the GPU load at a full 40W. It's a Dell RX6500, not a standard RX6500 XT. Thank you.
