Hearing the superb Della Jones singing Händel is like watching Olivier play Shakespeare, or listening to Gieseking play Debussy: the perfect marriage of performer and material. Jones had internalised Händelian rhetoric to the point that it was virtually impossible for her to put a foot wrong. She was like the reincarnation of Durastanti. Add to this her subtle, intense acting, and you have a Sextus for the ages. Thank you, Manoli! P.S: Great thumbnail!
