I bought the new philips Lattego 5500 about 3 weeks ago. Had different drinks daily as a family. I recognized that the milk foam is really terrible. The espresso quality was pretty good, but if you prefer to drink milk-based drinks, then I wouldn’t recommend philips at all. At least with the current Lattego technology. Today I gave back the Philips machine and bought the Delonghi Eletta Explore and beside the Material differences, I could definitely feel the higher quality of the machine. The foam is much finer and the fact that you can adjust the „foaminess“ of your milk ist great. Thank you for your time and the great video!

We also have (an even older) GCP and MDF grinder: I prefer the espresso from this combo but the Delonghi makes about 90% of the coffee in our house because it's so easy. They are great machines and it's interesting to see what a modern one can do. Thank you for your videos, always interesting.

Exquisite, exactly what I was waiting for. A very thorough demo on functions and UI of this great unit. I had no idea I would be this interested in watching a video about super automatics. You gotta know its a delonghi super auto, when you hear them start. I have a magnifica S at my office and it sounds exactly same way. It's always weird to me how you say, that your beans are 3-4 weeks old, in my area all local roasters roast on daily basis (I guess pour over/filter is more popular and customers always ask for their beans to be ground) so I have to wait a week before indulging in a cup of specialty coffee. Interesting! So the addition of the COLD milk frother carafe adds an interesting wrinkle. Hmmm I have the magnifica EVO and every afternoon I just pull a dopio shot - squirt 4 pumps of tilorani white mocha sauce in a large glass, swirl in the glass, add about half way up with ice, and fill up the rest with milk. Add top, straw, swirl. I’m really wanting to know how the cold foam could enhance that.

@@TomsCoffeeCorner I am not sure if this reply was to me or not as I was asking about being able to get a travel mug or tall 16oz cup under the coffee spout on the De'Longhi Plus. On the magnifica EVO, to do hot cocoa, you can drop the powder in the cup, attach the milk frother full, select the grinder bypass but don’t actually load any coffee, hit the my latte button, and it’ll empty the frother into the glass and then cancel itself because there’s no coffee in the bypass. Magical!

Thanks for the review! It's been really helpful to understand how the machine works, but I have a question about iced coffee. When making iced coffee, how do you add sugar before the coffee is poured over the ice? Since the machine serves the hot coffee directly onto the ice, there's no time to add sugar beforehand. This is important because most people drink their coffee with sugar, and I'd love to know the best way to ensure it dissolves properly. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

We are looking for a super automatic machine able to make great expresso (10 expressos per day at home) and that particular machine sims to have the same brew group like the dinamica plus or eletta. On the other hand we aren't interested at all in the milk steamer (we don't use it). Now, in Spain we can buy the rivelia without the automatic steamer at 579€ and we think it is a good choice. Oh heeealll yeaah (in Will Smith voice). There's no comparison. The Eletta makes stronger coffee via the bigger and finer pucks, and the milk texture is better, too. Plus, build quality is a fair amount better, and it's made in Italy.

Delonghi is good because u can choose how foamy your milk is. But it breaks very easily you need to open it up and maintain is quite well

Apparently, De'Longhi have the highest reliability rating of any full automatic machines.

I wonder what would happen if we use whole milk to make cold Latte Crema? It would be more convenient to use the same whole milk for hot drinks. 🤔

Hi. I bought the machine. Used for cold latte.. the coffee came out is hot, the milk is in room temperature so why it is called ICED LATTE. whats the difference from the hot cafe latte.. Is my machine not functioning well or was my expectation too high ( I thought the coffee will come out as cold)- hot milky drinks (latte etc..) and espresso is pretty decent .. taste good

Well, the iced drinks require ice to cool them down more. I think the only drink that comes out cool is the cold brew, which is at about 40 degrees C. The other drinks require the ice to cool them down further. The milky drinks should be about ambient temperature milk foam, if you use the white milk carafe. Cheers!

Eletta Explore ECAM450.55 (cheaper version without cold brew) for 700€ vs. Magnifica Evo Next ECAM 310.80 for 550€, what you think? Is it worth the extra cost?

Great review. Which model makes the best coffee Eletta ECAM450.86.T or PrimaDonna Soul One Connected ECAM610.75.MB. I would like to choose the one that makes the best espresso. Please help me.

Sorry, but I haven't tried the Prima Donna...so I cannot comment on that. Cheers!

Nice machine & review. However Galaxus has a used Dinamica Plus for 500€ right now, and would come with a 24mo warranty - considering that one for the office...

Can't go wrong for that price!

thanks so much for this video. do you recommend this one or the saeco xelsis for the best milk foam? and do you know if can i use the Eletta Explore without replacing the water softener filter? its unavailable to buy in my country. i mean will it still working as long as i do the descaling or some message will pop up and leave me with a non working coffee machine?
