I use it for my extended family. I use peanut oil and I'm already making the 6th batch in the same oil. The drumsticks I used to cook on 170 degree.for 10 minutes, the thigh pieces without bone and skin takes about 8 minutes on 180 degrees. I used to turn my pieces at half time. I love it's juiciness and when I leave it up to drain, I don't need to change the paper towel.I still have some wing pieces to cook, so this will be 7 batches in the same oil. Actually I put back my drumsticks for a further 2 minutes on 180 degree to get better colour. I love my roto dryer and the meat is outside crispy, inside juicy.

You were such a BIG help Thanks so much. I think I could have gotten that last leg in by arranging ALL the thin part of the legs to the middle :) I already had a 3 liter deep fryer but kinda tired of the cleaning of it even once a month. My oil sits after use in the fryer on the counter for use weekly and still fries perfect. Then at end of month I pour while I filter into a pot, a pain in the butt and if not too dark, I use it again a while. The most I can fry is 5 legs in that basket so this would be nice to use less oil. You answered many questions I had about the capacity by doing these legs. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video. *The fryer comes with a timer on it also. *And 2.1 L of oil needed = 5 cups and a little *They also recommend leaving a little space in the middle of the basket for better frying I got one has a wedding present and I am just opening it now after three years lol. I'm having issues with reconnecting back the basket after taking it out.

Thanks Doug, its about how much i anticipated it holding. I usually cook for 4 so this is about right. If i make two batches. ( my mom doesnt eat much 1 drum is good for her )I had a deep fryer a very long time ago. It kinda sucked an i went for a large capacity one. It just wasted way too much oil an made the food dry out. So i never really used it.

I just ordered a fry daddy for my bigger amounts of frying :)

+COOKINGWITHDOUG That oil though. It gets pricey..The old one i had took about half a gallon of oil to fill. Thats why we never used it. This was back in the mid 90s when you could get a gallon of oil for $5. By the way i did use it. It worked good except for one thing. It had this funny odor. Like a plastic smell. I could detect in the food to. . Maybe im hoping its because it was new/1st time using it.. Did you have that problem?
@COOKINGWITHDOUG9 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's prob just the 1st time smell...but as for the fry daddy, I had one before and it used 1 gallon and just a little more grease from like a reg bottle.... ($5 or $6 total in grease) but when I fire that up I'm make at least 25 wings or like 2 breast 4 thighs 3 legs etc
@letsgonow56419 жыл бұрын
+COOKINGWITHDOUG Im hoping its the first time use smell type of thing. No one else could detect in the wings i made. I however could. The old one i had took nearly 3/4 gal. I actually still have it just dont use it. I think im only going to bust this out like for special occasions. Thanks though for everything..

Can't you omit the basket and put more chicken in the pot since the basket isn't necessary.

MZ G the perfect chicken breading to use is Washington’s Chicken Breading comes in a round container with red lid. Looks like the round oatmeal container. The temperature he used was 370 F. He cooked the drumsticks for 15 minutes. Don’t crowd the cooking basket. He only put 5 drumsticks in the basket
