you can turn it on or off with a contol on the handle bars.

Shalom Aleichem. Can I remove that little screw on the vertical handlebar shaft so that I may lower the bar a few more inches? I put this thing together and my girlfriend is complaining the handlebar is too high even though I have at it lowest except for that little screw that seems to be holding it from going an extra 4 or so inches? We wouldn't advise that. but one solution may be to get a different stem and handlebar so that they can be tilted back more towards the rider. You could also look up how to turn the handle bars around on a Lectric XP 3.0 which is a similar bike there are many videos out there that will show you how to do it. WE would not recomend it but it is a very popular and cost effective way to bring the handle bars closer to the rider.

The electrical assistance is used either through pedal assistance (there are 5 levels of electrical assistance you choose from) when you have it in one of the electrical assistance levels and pedal it will add assistance to your ride, also you can use the twist throttle on the handle to add electrical assistance.
