Bob maybe you should do what you do best and watch people and what is going and team up with a good note taker. Get the notes and go over them, and then do a one day thorough briefing on it. Maybe just give a short overall on each day. Without it being filmed and a recording not available, we are not going to get a good feel for what is happening if everybody is busy taking notes. Just my thoughts. If nobody watches the people there will never be a good record of that otherwise. We need someone to read the room. You will have the information from notes others gather and having been in the room you will be able to give your legal insights as well.

Melanie did a fundraiser for Asheville NC tonight, which is the hardest hit, I believe. I'm in East TN & is bad, also, but Asheville is pretty much gone. There's no way in or out of Asheville, I-40 & I-26 are both closed so many dunno about their family members. No power, water, cell service &: the news is devastating. (I.e. after the water receded they said they were bodies hanging out of windows, hanging in trees, Etc.) While we we're hit, is no where near asb car as NC. I dunno the # est missing in NC. We lost a hospital and all elementary schools in two cities in East Tennessee. We're just not used to this kind of disaster and devastation, and even Governor Santos said not to help Florida but rather than your assistance to Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. Prayers for anyone affected. I didn't get hit badly at all. I have some siding and a couple of shutters down and I'm without internet. Big whoop in comparison! Thousands are without any kind of utility services and are really struggling!!

OMG!! This judges orders are unconstitutional. No recording in the courthouse and you must have a “recognizable media pass” Like you say, no one listens to that garbage anymore. Your podcast is way more informative than the local channel blah blah. The people need to stand up and make ALL court proceedings broadcast for all to see. The ultimate transparency.
@nedludd3641Ай бұрын
'I'm not a lawyer, BUT...' #5762: I thought it was entirely at the presiding judge's discretion. It's enough that members of the public can watch the trial in the Public Gallery - even if their numbers are restricted to the first ten in the queue? Have I got that wrong?
@independentmedia9312Ай бұрын
You're correct. This is one of the big problems with the injustice system. Judges feel like they can do whatever they want, avoid transparency like the plague, and then we should just all trust that they're being fair and impartial anyway. We need more transparency and fewer judges who want to act like the courtroom is their domain where they're the dictator.
@williamrae9954Ай бұрын
Amazing this judge was all up for TV cameras in the courtroom, until this s/show was landed on her,suddenly the powers being protected are leaning on her to literally have this man convicted in secret...much like Thomas Mair was in England, where his own mother was even banned from attending!
@jc5187Ай бұрын
@independentmedia9312 yes, exactly 💯. That judge irks me. Why in the heck can't their be cameras in the courtroom. I planned on going, (I live super close), but they are letting so few in. Everything about this judge has ticked me off. She should have stepped down...imo
@4Mr.Crowley2Ай бұрын
@@jc5187 cameras are not permitted in federal trials full stop; judges in state cases have quite a bit of leeway concerning cameras - for example the judge in the Lori Vallow cases did not permit cameras full stop. I think that cameras are in general a great idea as a visual recording exposes people to the legal process etc but I can also understand that witnesses and others can experience levels of anxiety and harassment that are unprecedented w/the combo of cameras/iPhones plus social media. The Vallow judge was very concerned about the witnesses feeling threatened and intimidated by social media loons etc.

Replay crew. I can totally see Judge Gull denying Tobin's statements, she is totally biased and has granted nearly everything the prosecution has put forward including basically denying Allen any defense, if they wanted to ban the 3rd party stuff then it should've been done early on and not at this late time in the proceedings. Now they want her to deny defense their expert who will challenge the prosecution expert on the unspent round...why? Well because basically he might just make the jury believe that the round just doesn't prove anything which in my opinion it really doesn't (RA has walked those trails before, he could well have dropped that at any time prior to that day, or shock horror someone else may have a weapon that is the same caliber, same make, same model, made on the same machine production line meaning it would have very similar microscopic flaws that leave the same "tool" markings).
@jc5187Ай бұрын
I think they must have hard evidence on Allen. By being so closed minded to the defense. If not, she is not a good judge...this whole case is crazy. I thought for sure keegan kline was in on this. But now I just don't know and desperately want to watch this trial. I live an hour away. But wouldn't be able to get in. This ticks me off!
@naomimcewan9744Ай бұрын
@jc5187 they've got to have something more than the round and the fact he said he was on the trails. I'm waiting to hear all the evidence before making my mind up fully but I agree with Ali it just shouts that more than one person was involved....now I don't know if Allen is one of those people, if he is he needs to be convicted, but I just can't make it work in my head that he acted alone and in such a short window of time, especially when the judge is literally denying anything that could possibly cause a jury to question the state, the geofencing that shows multiple phones in the area (60-100yds) of the crime scene at around the time of the crime, EF's confession, Libby's phone switching off and then turning back on nearly 12 hours later, not allowing any other person to even be mentioned, denying all of Todd Clicks testimony and investigative work.....

There's a wonderful American writer (very popular in the UK, probably unknown in the US) called Bill Bryson. He wrote a travel book in 1998, 'A Walk In The Woods' which detailed him and his mate walking the Appalachian National Trail. It's an uncharacteristically sour book imo. Bryson usually has a light touch, a mildly amused, jolly-foreigner-abroad approach: but not in this book which is darker. Towards the end of the book, he encounters two very nice young women who are also walking the trail. About a week later, he bumps into a Park Ranger who tells him both women were found str-ngled in their tent around the time he saw them alive. I wonder if they ever caught the person who did that? Wasn't 'Deliverance' filmed in the Appalachians? Some parts are sparsely populated, remote & isolated.

With regards to the ballistics testimony and the jury’s believing it, I would love to see the Defense counter that evidence with an expert on the studies which have shown issues with the test/analysis process, human subjectivity for results, and errors resulting for those. For example, the Army Research Lab’s studies concluded a MINIMUM of 25 test cartridges are needed for accuracy in determining striation patterns, but most ballistic analysis techniques use far less than that when testing for a match. BLUF - go after the methodology for ballistics testing as a whole, in addition to the actual results of this specific test.

Exactly. An unsent round has absolutely no markings to indicate what gun it was for.
