Delta 767-300ER - Honolulu to Los Angeles - Takeoff and Night Landing

Takeoff from the Reef Runway. We hit some bumps a few hours into the flight as the sun was setting. We approached LAX from the south over Long Beach and landed on Runway 25L. I would have filmed the taxi to the gate, however, we were approximately 30 minutes early and our gate was occupied so we sat out on the taxiway for a while.

That’s a General Electric CF6 engine. The Pratt & Whitney PW4000-94 engines are normally on a few of the the United Boeing 777-200ER airplanes.

Yep, that rainbow is courtesy of Mother Nature and the moisture in the air near the clouds. Cool...!! (not in meteorological terms)

401stTFW I don't know what happened to our posts. That is cool that you worked on fighter jets and the GE and Pratt and Whitney engines. I assume Rolls Royce is not used in U. S. fighters as it's a British product. Yes Planespotters.net is the best and most accurate. Glad you found it. My buddy who works on engines for Delta told me N194DN is suppose to be Pratt so I'm sure that site is correct. Delta has 95 767's but I haven't looked at enough of the specs on each 767 to see with certainty if most are GE or Pratt. I have been told more are GE than Pratt. I know starting at about N185DN through N199DN are Pratt and Whitney. N827MH is GE as I was just with that one. I salute you for your service on our fighters!! :-)

Great video! I spent many years flying Delta 76's. Well powered and great flight control authority. Almost as fun to fly as the 75 (better flight control "harmony"- the 76 was really touchy in roll but not so in pitch.Boeing got it right with the 75).

I don't believe the 757 and 767 share engines. Though I think the 747 and 767 have the same engines.

That's because then engines of the 757 and this 767 AREN'T the same. Only the RR RB211 is used on both planes.

Overseas flights use the Reef for takeoffs. However, the inter island flights were all using the Reef too the days I was at the airport. Runway 8L is the primary runway for landings, though I have been on flights that landed on the Reef Runway.
