This will always be a Canadian aircraft for me. Largely paid for by the tax payers of Canada. My greatest hope is that everyone who travels on this aircraft is safe and enjoys their journey. May the spirit of the CS-100 and 300 carry on long into the future and may their be a A220-500 one day.
@LoveJT8D4 жыл бұрын
Totally understood. The "C-Series" designation to me still has the catchier name. The cool thing about these Delta birds, is that you can still see evidence of the "CS-100" labeling in the cockpit, and in the boarding doorway. Can't wait to see what the A220-500 will look like!

Flying into Seattle is always a treat--gorgeous scenery,great downtown view,a glimpse of Mt Rainier--I will never understand why anybody would want to move away from the area.Looking at that inflight map,looks like its only 185 miles between SJC-SEA,distance seems off,is this true? The only negative aspect of the 220 is the engines--they're too quiet on takeoff and there is that godawful 'moaning' noise when thrust is applied.Did you spend any time in the Emerald City?
@LoveJT8D5 жыл бұрын
Jason Moors This particular trip I didn’t leave the airport, just a quick turn back. But did visit there back in October and was my first time seeing downtown, Pikes Place etc... According to Google, driving miles between SJC to SEA is about 836 miles. So give or take for as the crow flies. That moaning noise I think makes the engine sound more unique from the rest of the herd, but agree that would be nice to hear them more during takeoff.

@@LoveJT8D I've argued with people about the whole title thing. The only thing that makes these planes Airbuses are the fact that because of the stupidly high tariffs imposed by orangeman, Bombardier and Airbus found a way around it by selling the program to Airbus so they could be built, or assembled, in Alabama. The C series was starting to sell before Airbus bought the program. Nice video, and, impressive you got a meal on such a short flight. Great video!

@@realcanadianrailfan110 , it's the same situation as the Boeing 717. To Douglas people, it'll always be the MD-95. This aircraft is now officially known/marketed as the A220, but sure, like the data plate says, there's CS100 blood running through those veins, so to speak. Not worth arguing about, call it either one.

@@realcanadianrailfan110 > obviously you don't know the whole story. The tariffs were NEVER enacted. Bombardier was $2.5 billion over budget on the developement cost and had one foot in the door of bankruptcy. Because operators could not count on Bombardier being in business in the future sales were bleak. They had no way to get out from under their debt and the Boeing complaint was just the last nail in the coffin. BTW, Airbus did not by their 50.1%, bombardier gave it to them for a token $1. What it like to fly on a A-220/CS-100??
@tyrell.4 жыл бұрын
It genuinely feels like a 757 space-wise. I flew in F class DEN-SEA and Y+ SEA-DEN. It's very quiet. Seats (on Delta) are about as comfortable as the new A319, so slightly less comfortable than the -5500 series 757s before they were refurbed. But only slightly. Markedly better experience than your average DL 737-800 (I don't mind the DL 739, but many do) and any regional jet. If not for IFE, I would say the CSeries ties with the 717-200 in terms of overall comfort.
@leezinke43514 жыл бұрын
Tyrell sounds like fun to fly on. 😊
@texasabbott4 жыл бұрын
Seats are very wide in economy class (18.5 to 19 inches). The A220 cabin windows are bigger than anything except on the 787. The cabin is a mere 26 cm narrower than the 757. Very quiet but fun to ride, looks like a mini-Dreamliner with 757 performance. The CS100/A220-100 is a crazy-powerful mainline aircraft over-engineered by Bombardier. The A220-100's wings and engines are huge, so it accelerates harder, takes off faster than anything else and can jump off the ground in less than 17 seconds at John Wayne airport, a very fast climber even with a big load of transcontinental fuel. The longer A220-300 also rides like a rocket, but can lift a heavier payload than the A319!

14:48 is actually Mt. Adams, but the confusion is understandable given the proximity of Rainier, Adams, and St. Helens to each other. St. Helens has that distinctive mile-wide crater, and flights headed into SEA from the south tend to pass just slightly west of it (in my experience).
