Watch this video to see what it’s like to fly onboard Delta Airlines’ BRAND NEW Airbus A321neo from Boston to San Francisco. Not only that, this flight ended up showing me the professionalism of pilots and airport workers!
This new airplane is designed to save fuel and elevate customer comfort.
This trip in Delta’s new First Class lasted six hours and this video will highlight everything! From what makes the Delta A321neo such a special plane, to the Delta First Class food and seat. We’ll even share the Delta Inflight Entertainment and service.

My thought exactly. Most creators would’ve titled this video “EMERGENCY LANDING Airbus Boston to San Fran FLAPS MALFUNCTION!!! Was I okay???” with an obnoxious thumbnail. Very refreshing to simply take it in stride during the video, instead of it being the main event for clicks.

I'm a retired airline pilot, and I train pilots to fly biz jets now. We do get trained for no flap or partial flap landings all the time. So exactly as the pilot said, we do train for this and it's pretty much a non event

Do you reckon that the pilots knew about the flap issue just after departure? Listen to the ATC dialogue - the captain said that it was stuck on the way out. Would seem safer to burn the fuel in flight, land lighter, and on a longer runway (SFO is about 1,700 feet longer than Boston Logan). The travelling public doesn’t realise that stuff like this happens alot. I am surprised that the pilot requested emergency vehicles in fact.

What's the difference in terms of touchdown speed between the various flaps settings? Is it really that much?
@michae8jackson378

@@wisbradley it's not a huge amount. But from full flaps to no flaps can be pretty big amount. Luke is said regardless, it's no big deal. With some jets no flaps gets close to your max tire speed. But we know how to maintain airspeed so its no biggie either

Flaps not extending fully is such a walk in the park to seasoned pros like that. No big deal. And DL tech ops pros had that plane fixed and back in the air in no time. Delta is such a well run machine, not just in aviation but in the entire business landscape.

Bullshit lol. I have no clue what they do in the maintenance facility in ATL, but of all the airlines I fuel at my job (SW, AA, AAY, POE, MSR, AIC, TAP, BEL, AF, Q6, OAE, FDY, and of course DL), I’ve only ever had to deal with MEL’s and INOP stickers on Delta planes. Just last Thursday I had to fuel a Delta a320 with an INOP sticker. What’s also weird is how old their airbuses and 737s are… think they need a refurbishment.

Delta has the highest numbers of canceled or delayed flights in the US. Considering most of their canceled or delayed flights are from maintenance or crew staffing issues and NOT from weather related incidents (as it is for American, United, and Southwest) I think it's clear to see they are not a "well run machine". Their operations in Atlanta are incredible, that's obvious. But overall, they are fairly low in customer service and reliability scores.

As a 321 NEO Long Range captain (A321 253NX) I can say they are an excellent aircraft. My company uses them for Transatlantic travel between Europe and the US. They are a game changer in aviation terms as they operate so efficiently from a fuel point of view. We operate with a business class offering with full lie flat beds and an economy of 171 seats. 186 in total. They are the future when compared with the 757 which my company would have operated on the routes they now serve in the past. As for the flap issue encountered on this flight , it’s a non event for us pilots. It would only be a concern if operating into an airport with a short runway. SFO wouldn’t cause any such issues.

A little trick I learned last summer, when you’re on a flight, and you want to take a Timelapse video looking out the window, on most planes there’s a gap between the window and the shade. That gap is usually big enough for a phone to fit into. You just start your video, then you close the window shade with the phone in there, and you can take a video.

When ATC asked, “how many souls on board”, that really struck a scary chord with me. I fly a lot and only once have been in an emergency landing situation. You’re right, we all love the niceties and service when we fly but safety is paramount. For that reason, I always makes point to thank the cabin and flight crew when we land. “Safe travels” is more than a casual comment. Another great video, Jeb! Thank you.
