I was hired to provide 30 minutes of entertainment in the park before the guests went to dinner at Tavern On The Green. It turned out to be a truly wonderful time for all.

I broke my guitar more than an year ago. Nylon strings, here in Brazil I used to play a lot fo bossa nova and derivations, so nylon strings are better for that, but, I've always been in love with blues, I used to play a little bit on my old guitar, but nothing as serious as you playing, now I'm excited to buy a resonator like this and start my lessons on blues, thanks!

I discovered you today when my friend sent me a link to a Charlie Patton video. You are great Keni. I am outraged about those rude restaurant customers standing around and talking when they should have been listening to you! You deserved their undivided attention. People are dumb. They wouldn't pull that on Paul McCartney!

@earthmother Thank you. The client's wife (her birthday party) is a big fan of Bottleneck slide guitar. The client (her husband) meet me on the subway platform while I was performing and asked for my card. He emailed to book the entertainment, and asked if I would cover one of her favorite songs. This will appear in Clip 3. Fortunately, I have the complete performance. Enjoy.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging comments. I am in Vestapol Tuning (Major scale tones 151351) I very rarely play in the commonly played key of D. I prefer to tune down a half or whole step to the keys of C# or C (CGCegc) for my voice. Enjoy.

@MancBluesman Thank you for your encouragement. I wish I could make more time to play out. This definitely keeps your chops sharp and increases your growth. Life is cyclical, but far from symetrical. It is difficult to stay regular. LOL Enjoy.

@inkmonster0u812 Thank you for your comment. Well I guess living today we know what it feels like to live during a Depression. LOL A guitar like this back then was very expensive. About $40. A basic 6 stringer was $2.50! Enjoy.

@cannabisdeathmorbs oh thanks for replying to me. i really would feel strange with out all my digital equipment. but i always keep my acoustic guitar and harmonica near me. i have heard many people call this music old, but i think that thanks to the internet and youtube these songs become new to cats like me.
@KeniLeeBurgess12 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your invitation. Yes, I think you will find the exercises contained on the CDs helpful for strengthening your ability to play two lines of music (bass and treble) at the same time. Getting an accurate separation and clarity of these two lines makes this style really pop. Enjoy your practice and please keep in touch.

@cannabisdeathmorbs Thank you for responding. I enjoy digital music also, but I personally prefer the sound of playing an acoustic guitar. You may be right, it definitely seems ancient compared to our modern technology. Today, you can carry 1000's of songs in a player no bigger than a matchbook. This would be magic back in the 1930! Happy Holidays. Enjoy.
@KeniLeeBurgess15 жыл бұрын
@LoveMyPadres Thank you Kelly. I think this style of music is just as much fun to play, as it is to listen to. Once you get a grip on the alternating bass and placing the melody notes either on or off the downbeat, you are off and running. Definitely showing my age, but I love the mechanical movement of it all. Something that seems to be getting lost in our digital cyber age. Enjoy.

Thank you for your interest and question. I have not done a lesson on this song yet. Possibly in the Gospel series I am currently producing. Although, please consider CD 1. I am quite sure if you work through those lessons, you will have no problem figuring out my rendition of this song. Visit ebay and Search: keni lee Feel free to write if questions arise. Enjoy your practice.

@pyrrho1000 Thank you. By mainly playing in Vestapol and Spanish tuning only, the fingerboard is getting more and more familiar. In upcoming lessons (Series 5) for the 4 string cigar box guitar tuned in mini- spanish (Dgbd) I am going to show a great way to approach learning chords and referencing them to the major scale. Because they are organized in the way, it makes the fingerboard even easier. Enjoy.

@MrSouthpaw55 Thank you Paul for your comments. If you have been enjoying my videos here on youtube, please consider purchasing my instructional videos CDs that are for sale on ebay by searching: keni lee. They will help you explore deeper into this style and also help to support my work here on KZbin. The slapping rhythm is a combination of playing the 4 chord and stopping the string from vibrating with your right hand. The left hand chord pressure opens and closes too. Enjoy.

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your purchase. Did you contact Frank at Republic? I use Martin Nickel Resonator Bluegrass strings and tune to Open D or G. Many times even lower to keys of C and F.

HELLO KENI, I BOUGHT A TRICONE BY REP A FEW MOS AGO. NOT TOO HAPPY WITH IT. NO VOLUME AND QUALITY OF SOUND AT ALL. PERHAPS I HAVE THE WRONG STRING GAUGE & BRAND OF STRING. WHAT ARE YOU USING, CAUSE IT SOUNDS SO SWEET AND SPARKLING. ITS SO GOOD TO FIRST HEAR & PLAY LIKE THE MASTERS IF POSSIBLE, BUT THEN, PUT YOUR OWN STYLE AND PERSONALITY IN TO IT. YOU ARE A SHINING EXAMPLE OF HOW FREE AND CLEAR IT CAN SOUND. BLESS YOU MY FRIEND FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS AT PLAYING THE GREAT ONES & KEEPING THEM ALIVE
