The 747-400 is my favorite wide-body! Delta kept the NW 744's in good shape it looks.
@MegaAngrygerman10 жыл бұрын
they actually just refurbished most if not all their 744's with new interiors and personal video entertainment systems. Some of the older ones like N665US were put into service in 1989, yet still fly today. They'll be around for some time, as N675NW and N676NW were put into service in 2002. 744's can easily last 25 years with good care. Great to see an iconic aircraft still in service.

Great landing! It must be so cool to have a pilot as a dad...but most of all I miss flying the 747! It was always fun! I want to fly on that amazing bird again someday.

Thanks! Im flying over to NRT on monday from ATL. My dad will be the Captain

Your dad is an awesome pilot! Once a QANTAS 747 absolutely screwed the landing, came in too steep, but that is perfect!

@invertballer12 Awesome! I walked by you like 100 times! I got bored a lot and went up and talked to the Flight attendant for a bit. Idk if you would remember seeing me but I was wearing jeans and a black polo shirt.

Nice video man! My mom and dad both work for Delta so I'll be flying NRSA to NRT on Saturday from JFK. I'm transferring to HND though to get back to DTW so I can see Tokyo. Looks like a great seat!

@xxxlayxlowxxx My dad started with Republic Airlines out of MSP in 1984 then Northwest in 1985, then to Delta in 2009. He started out on the Convair 580 then went to the DC-9 and flew that as both First officer and Captain then went to the A320 in 1997 as an F/O soon moved up to Captain on the A320 then moved to the 747-400 as a Delta Captain in the Spring of 2011. He's been based in MSP, MEM, DTW, and NRT in his days as a pilot, and he still has 15 more years till retirement!

Nice video! There's another one on here of same bird, same approach/airport, in early 2014 3 years later. It's sort of weird watching both and thinking that there's been 3 xmases, new years, an election, etc. etc. inbetween.

This video made me feel what is to travel on a real 747-400 ... the one equipped with PW engines!

It's also interesting though maybe not a common thing - that tarmac area near terminal.gate looks to 'orderly' with luggage trucks, ramp vehicles, etc. all nicely parked/lined up etc. unlike ramps at US airports which always look like a tornado went through and complete chaos. Are Japanese airports typically like this view?

So have you taken advantage of all the "free flying" with a relative working for an airline to all over the globe?

Isn't there usually a rule at NRT that 747s have to use 16R/34L?
@HDTokyoAviation10 жыл бұрын
Theres no such rule, they can land on that runway though when the departure traffic is not as busy as the longer one is used for takeoff operations mostly.
@maverick96712 жыл бұрын
