Here's video my dad filmed of my brother and I in the Delta Flyer cable car ride at Great America in Gurnee, IL on July 18, 1979.

Just realized this is new! LOVED the sky rides across the park. The water rides, back then, had the longest wait times, especially on the weekends.

I remember by the late 80s, early 90s, the Yankee Clipper and Logger's Run had hardly any wait time and you could go on several times a day, because they had so many newer rides by then, nobody cared much about the old water rides, so we always took advantage of that and kept going on them multiple times.

Wow! You must have had those real big bulky cameras with the vcr attached to it in 1979! This is a rarity! Also this was filmed exactly 15 years before I was born!

In 1979 is when the Panasonic Portable VHS Video Recorder was released, but the issue with the camera, was that it was attached to a mini vcr player that was very bulky and pretty much anybody that even did have the camera, didn't want to lug it around to get video of anything outside their house. In 1983 is the first vhs consumer camcorder that wasn't bulky and heavy, and that's when camcorders started being a regular thing for families to archive their best moments.

Nice to see another vintage ride through video from you. Do you plan on uploading anymore?
