I have to laugh at the irony of KZbinrs (no names mentioned) who are trying to big up this inferior Battlefield 2042 clone as a far better game, when it contains all the things the reviewers hated on BF2042 in the first place. Personally I had BIG hopes for Delta Force and I'm still enjoying the occasional game, but I've realised that its just so vanilla in comparison. Definitely worth it as a free to play game, but it doesn't hold a candle to 2042.

Played battlefield 3, 4 and 1 and enjoyed it really. When 2042 came out it felt like downgrade in terms of gameplay, shooting part etc. The thing I hate in battlefield the most is helicopters shooting you from 15 miles away and you can't get them. If heli is close to you can try to shoot it down but they use flares and fly away to reset those flares and come back. So it is almost impossible to shoot it down with rockets. You do not need to be perfect pilot to do that. They do not have this problem in Delta Force. Graphics are better, shooting part is better. You can set your weapons however you want. Recoil feels "real" I would say, maybe. Unreal Engine 5 will allow to do much more in future. Is i a Battlefield 2042 killer? I do not know. But in my opinion this is a very good game so far. And remember this game did not come out yet. It was demo version of it. Open beta will be in december not an official release but open beta and it is free to play.

Bf4 is the goat but only us old farts know this, 2042’s movement is way better then bf4 imo and I can get full lobbies with good ping, I have no hate for it.

As a current BF2042 player, I will say that Delta Force has one thing going for it that Battlefield doesn’t. The gun customization is far better than Battlefield’s. I don’t know why no one ever mentions this. The gunsmith is superior. One of the best I’ve seen in an FPS honestly and it’s a huge attraction for the game. You can put on as many attachments as you have rails available. It’s a great freedom for making every gun custom to your style or needs. I hope the next Battlefield improves their gunsmith and includes a firing range in the next game. Anyone else want that in the next BF?

At least Delta Force is new content. After I played the Delta Force PC Alpha going back to BF2042 bored me honestly. With the exception of the vehicles and lack of team controls it felt pretty polished for an Alpha, especially the "gun smith". The physics are not hyper ventilated like BF2042 and movement and tactics feel more grounded like BF3/4. It seems to me that BF2042 has allowed Squid to create really unique and entertaining play style which would be hard to reproduce even in past Battlefield games (no squirrel girl or Dozer). I'll definitely be playing it starting December 5th until Battlefield provides something new to consider.

I played the closed beta (or whatever it was called) and now quite few times on steam and the feeling in Delta Force, the movement, the weapon feel etc. all feel subpar to all BF games. I uninstalled it. Playing BF2042, BFV, BF1 and some Cyberpunk while waiting for the next BF instead.

Agree. I think Battlefield 2042 just hasn't been able to recover from the bad release. If people had a go at this game now, with a fresh open mind, they'd see it for the brilliant game it is. Every time I logon, something EPIC happens, whether it's me flying off a condor, flying past a nightbird chopper and throwing C5 into it and exploding it, or smashing a jet into an annoying wildcat to send it launching off the side of a mountain, or a knife throw mid flight that lands. COD, traditional BF, Delta force don't even come close to this game as it is right now. If this game release today, fresh, without the baggage, it would be #1.

I'm now playing on my 3080ti. The 4090 pc broke. Battlefield 2042 has superior performance on both the PC'S I played on. Delta force has huge optimisation problems from what I felt

Get rid of the wing suit and play a few rounds and I think you will be fine. Have not tried the free game yet but may now. Thoughts are can it really be worse than battlefield 2042's release. Game is ok now but try playing on the ground sound is horrid still. Game its laggy all the time and far from smooth and inconstant depending on the lobby connection. I play it here and there and find myself having a little fun but that is playing through the junk. I hate the wing suit though fun for spiderman maybe or something but not a fps shooter.

I think the next battlefield really needs to focus on not having bots in the game because that honestly ruins most of the fun imo. Bfv days was awesome you could just search the fullest lobby and roll on. Bf2042 you just get stuck in a lobby with 4 people and 28 bots. 🙄
