Hey Ravic, do you see yourself playing delta force in the long run? I agree with you on the point about the maps, hopefully we'll see 5 maps in this early release then perhaps 2 more on the full launch, I think that would hit the minimum for healthy replayability. Besides that I was really impressed with the quantity and customization of the weapons, something I always wished 2042 had, and it keeps me hopeful that these devs will know to avoid the pitfalls that Battlefield unfortunately fell into. Really hoping people enjoy this game as much as I have and that it can be a really robust experience say a year from now with plenty of maps, guns, skins, gamemodes and specialists. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to get a feel for if your hopeful about this game and if you see yourself enjoying it for as long as you have a Battlefield game.

If the devs for Delta Force are still going for the Q1 2025 launch or full release of this game then I think they'd need to launch with 8-10 maps to have overwhelming success to be effective against the next Battlefield because that will also be coming out later 2025 ( assuming they stick to that as well ). That 8-10 number at start is because that is likely what the Battlefield game will start with and if Delta Force does that and then releases a new map with each season they'll be ahead of the curve with more variety than a freshly released Battlefield game. As you mention "healthy replayability" is important or I think it's more important than other aspects of games even though often times you'll only see "most popular Battlefield games" running very specific map only servers a lot of the time. However when those games were active you'd find way more consistently populated normal servers because having so many maps kept refreshing the replayability. The things they tried with BF2042 were different and a lot of them were just too clever for gamers. The Plus system for attachments made it so you could turn one weapon into multiple types of weapons. So one weapon is multiple weapons. Same with vehicles, that APC could be both mobile AA or a ground vehicle. It's when efficiency is pushed in a smart way but becomes meaningless because the players aren't going to notice or realize it. They just want more weapons regardless of how they look or how bad they are they just want more. Like with the maps they want quantity over quality. However I don't think any studio could have predicted how being clever hurt them more than it helped them innovate and add more elsewhere in the game so I can't really fault DICE for that. It's more of a hindsight thing which they hopefully have learned from. As I've mentioned before I think this game is making a mistake with wasting the Delta Force name and IP recognition. They could have simply called it Hawk Ops and it would have done just as well ( I kind of think it would have done better ) because it's a game based on ideas, mechanics, and features from multiple recently released games and franchises. Also it doesn't share much if anything with the original Delta Force games. If they dropped the Operators aka super powers crap and went with classes only and made them look like actual delta force operators, backwards baseball cap, beards, sunglasses, etc. I would have been far more excited especially if I could customize the way they looked by changing the beards and other aspects mentioned. Look up operator as f meme for reference material and jokes. Most of the features and mechanics they stole from other games are the bad or worst versions of them at least for the Battlefield-like modes. The movement and gunplay makes it pointless to run anything other than automatic weapons like ARs or SMGs, anything else will often times make you lose the fight because of other mechanics like zero bullet penetration or no limb penetration. Because of stuff like that I'm more inclined to believe either their focus is going to be mainly on the Tarkov extraction modes or mobile aspects. Both studios working on the game are mainly mobile game developers. The other problem is they appear to be trying or at least they did try it during the "alpha" is having way too many game modes versus the number of maps. Battlefield has made this mistake multiple times and it leads to the population being spread so thin you often times either can't get a server in some regions or get mostly bots/ai. Speaking of, if they don't do something about the bots/ai in the Battlefield-like modes for Delta Force it'll probably piss off people enough that the second they get an alternative ( the next Battlefield game ) they'll drop Delta Force in a heartbeat. The more time I put into playing the "alpha" the more it felt like a lot of the game was ai generated or they used some ai algorithm to generate the ideas and structure for the game. If they do the map stuff I mentioned I think it could do well. If they don't I'm skeptical it will do that great since it's a free to play game on the Unreal engine being developed by a third party developer ( not first party like Epic + Fortnite on Unreal ) so things will take a while to get sorted if they even try ( PUBG is example of this ) and they may end up dropping aspects of the game and focusing on whatever sticks to the wall. So am I excited? Not really, not if they don't plan to change much. It will certainly be something to play in the meantime but the gameplay loop feels as unsatisfying as COD's so I don't know how long I'll be able to force myself to play it. You guys don't have to apologize for a "rant" when it's well thought out input, ideas and concerns.

@Ravic2 ай бұрын
As I mentioned in the video description if it has a bunch of maps at launch or at full release it will probably do quite well but at the moment it doesn't appear they will. They might instead launch with very few and add one at a time in which if they take too long will hurt them greatly because by then the next Battlefield will be released and they'd be out of time. They'd still be able to attract COD and Tarkov players though. Since the studios behind the game are mainly mobile game developers I'm assuming they will lean more into the mobile and Tarkov mode considering what they've shown and talked about so far. They might not but I'd lean toward worst case scenarios with so many unknowns.
@sneakysealpuptv93792 ай бұрын
@@Ravic yeah I agree. And I also think you're right about tarkov players being interested, especially since there isn't really any good extraction shooters for console atm. I hope I'm wrong tho id like to see this game succeed

@@sneakysealpuptv9379 I think it would do amazing if it launched when they mentioned Q1 2025 but with 8-10 maps for the Battlefield-like modes. If it doesn't I'm skeptical on how it will do overall. It might just be big for the other niches.
