I had a cat who passed away about 7 or 8 weeks ago who was also 19 but being 13 now, I grew up with her being deaf (she had been deaf for her entire life) and aggressive so I was quite scared of her so unfortunately I did not have the same sort of bond with her but I really feel sorry for you. Reference to Pet Cematary or not, the video does an excellent job of encapsulating the guilt, rage, and grief of having to watch a much loved pet die violently. I cry over this because the song is 1. An old memory itself and 2. It reminds me of all my cats. My family had so many cats. It reminds of seeing them on the sidewalk, laying there. 3 whole times. I had to see my cat decay and die of lung cancer because we and the doctors couldn't do anything. I had to watch my cats getting put down because of injuries getting hit by cars, or attacked by wild animals in the forest near us. Fuck. Thank you for reading this. It scarred me so much. I remembered this video out of nowhere and was trying to think of the name of it because I watched it when I was younger and I finally found it after looking up "dead cat music video", so glad I finally found it. This just gives me so much nostalgia and the pain and grief is so real it's like it's coming out of the screen, they did such a good job depicting what it's like to lose a pet. Having known of this song since 2011 and having lost our cat a little over 2 months ago this song hits different. I feel like the girl sometimes wanting to dig up her grave, get her out and hug her one last time or run away with her and it pains me knowing I can't do that, but only think about it, and it hurts. Man it's really fucking sad to the point where sometimes it becomes difficult to cope, and I dont know how to let her go and move on. In the last weeks she was alive it started to feel like she was my cat, and she grew on me by the day, and a few weeks later she was taken from me. There are so many things I wish I could still give her and I had the time while she was alive but I didn't do enough. Even though she wasnt a cat you could cuddle with, I do miss spending time with her and watching her, trying to understand what she wanted. I really hope I get to meet her again once I die, at least thats the only hope I have of ever seeing her again.
