It's for pistols, too. Open division competition pistols. Much like the RTS or the Romeo 3. Open division shooters go fast on courses of fire with big windows and big 6 to 8 MOA dots.

How would you say the quality of the screen is? As clear as red dots in the higher price range? And the brightness of the dot in its highest setting, is it as bright or brighter than higher price range options?

The view through the lens is surprisingly clear. Combined with the true 1x magnification, I would say that the dot can compete with more expensive ones in terms of optical quality. I can say the same for the brightness of the dot - at the maximum setting, it is just as bright as the more expensive dots.
