I was on a flight leaving New orleans last year. As we we're leaving, they sprayed the water cannon at our plane. The company had lost a pilot, and he was being taken back to Detroit to be buried. It was his final send off.

Keith is an American Patriot. He flew multiple fighter missions in his F-16 in Desert Storm. One of my best friends also a retired Delra Captain and naval aviator, was on that flight with his wife. WOW! What an epic gesture and experience.

Exactly. Senior CA on the A330 NEO equipment, he’s probably close to $700K-$800K annually. Depending on how much he was flying etc. but definitely more than half a million on the low end though

For those saying it should have been free, it costs an inordinate amount of money to operate a jet, let alone a widebody across the ocean. This flight probably used $100k worth of fuel alone. If his company footed the bill, it wouldn’t be fair to other 14000+ pilots when they retire.

Keep in mind DAL had to supply another pilot, crew and accommodations while they were in HI plus fuel. I doubt DAL made any money on that trip.

😂😂😂 no the hell it didn't use $100k in fuel. Hawaii is like 5 hours away. The plane used burns about 800 gallons of fuel/ hr. DL likely has a fuel discount. 10 hours round trip. $6/gal of fuel. 800×6×10= $48k. A crew of 7 will cost about $5k for 24 hours. Just over 50k. That doesn't even include the cost for landing fees/departure fees, staffing fees etc. This was not a free damn trip DL paid for

The best part was having his mom on board for the very first time... This is one of my greatest regrets in life. Neither one of my parents ever flew with me... They did not want me becoming a pilot and I did it without them knowing... By the time they accepted it, and liked the idea, they were both unable to fly... I think of them every time I fly now...
