Here’s a dip cut/appearance for the delta. On the Nintendo ds, there’s a game called combat of giants: dinosaurs. Despite the name, you mostly “fight” by drawing the outlines of various shapes. The more perfect it is, the more effective your dino is in every match. Deltadromeus is one of the available dinosaurs you can choose to play through the game. Each dinosaur was part of a group depending on what playstyle you want. Delta was part of the large carnivores group, specialised on doing maximum damage. This group includes the Tyrannosaurus, Albertosaurus, Suchomimus and its rival the charcarodontosaurus. It would appear as an enemy in one of the desert levels, but would be the least encountered.

@@DinoBasics hey no problem. I knew the game was rather unknown so I was excited to bring it up when you covered the delta. There is also other games in the battle of giants series. Some even having more unknown species, like the juravenator.

I’m new to your channel but I’m loving the content I’ve seen so far. If you’re taking requests on Dino’s to do videos on, I’d love to see one on the Lillensternus. It’s one of the most underrated dinosaurs in my opinion but it’s a really interesting & cool looking predator. Also Afrovenator & Austalovenator videos would be awesome too!
Jackals seems to be able to survive quite well around Lions, I suspect Deltadromeus may have lived a similar lifestyle.

Now, I don’t know a whole lot about Deltadromeus, so, take this with a grain of salt. Deltadromeus was one of the fastest and most agile dinosaurs of all. It was a large theropod, a Noasaurid, that was around 8 meters long with an unknown weight. Its gracile and relatively fragile frame is not suited for engaged combat and probably attacked the prey with its vicious claws and teeth, slashing the hide and flesh like an axe until the prey died from exhaustion, blood loss, shock, or a combination of all three. Since its body design is that of a runner, it was most likely warm-blooded. It was likely covered in scales or bumps rather than feathers due to it being a member of a more basal theropod family, closely related to Carnotaurus and Ceratosaurus. It was a definite carnivore, though probably not capable of hunting large and dangerous prey, unless, of course, it hunted in packs. It lived in North Africa during the Late Cretaceous Period, alongside the sauropod, Paralititan, and the sail-backed ornithopod, Ouranosaurus, the natural-born scavenger abelisaurid, Rugops, the giant carnosaurid, Carcharodontosaurus, and the giant sail-backed theropod, Spinosaurus. From my experience, it is only known from the Anime TV Series, Dinosaur King, as the character, Delta. Anyway, how are my other requests coming along? And it’s always great to hear back from you, you know?

I've done some rearranging of the schedule. While I don't mind covering obscure dinosaurs, if anything I enjoy shining light on less recognized dinosaurs, it probably isn't healthy for the channel and analytics. So, as of now, I really don't have videos planned too far out ahead.
@anthonybusch4407 Жыл бұрын
Okay, I understand. Will we still see or hear back from each other, though?
@DinoBasics Жыл бұрын
@@anthonybusch4407 Probably should have explained that better - Same schedule, I'm not leaving KZbin or Friday uploads. What are IN those episodes will be rearranged. Originally, I wrote videos based on order of requests. But when I get a line of lesser known dinosaurs, that hurts viewership. So, I will be changing how I create videos, so probably 1 or 2 more well known dinosaurs in a row, then a lesser known dinosaur in between. Rather than 3 unknown into one super popular dinosaur.

@anthonybusch4407 Here’s an update on media for you & Dino Basics on Deltadromeus. One of the mod groups for Path of Titans “ JFD “; is reworking their Deltadromeus mod. It’s getting the Noasaurid build, long legs, long neck, & a small head with either a beak or a slender snout with sharp teeth. It’ll be slightly larger than the Alioramus from what they are showcasing.
@hcollins9941 Жыл бұрын
Sorry to say but Spino got recently downsized to 45 feet long & weighing 8 - 8.5 tons. While the largest Carcharodontosaurus specimen is under the estimate of 39 - 42 feet long & weighing 6.5 - 7 tons.
@DinoBasics Жыл бұрын
THIS is why Spinosaurus is not getting a video any time soon! Literally 10 minutes of the video will be dedicated to going back and forth on everything from size and diet! Also yes, that Carchar estimate was probably on the high end.

Good to know not ALL dinosaurs were feathered (of course, because skin implants, amber fossils, etc…) Anyways, this is a very interesting theropod, never understood how fast these dinosaurs really where (nobody knows, but yeah). These must’ve been nimble, and annoying, things. Seems like me.

T. rex was the largest terrestrial carnivore
@DinoBasics Жыл бұрын
It's a more nuanced argument, technically I could have been more specific in the term "largest", but by most accounts Spinosaurus was larger. It's really difficult to get specific with sizes of animals when they are fossils, mostly due to not knowing when an animal was truly at it's max size and sometimes we simply haven't discovered a fossil of a dinosaur at it's max size. Also, estimates can easily vary from source to source, simply based on a scientist's own beliefs and evidence. However, based on most reliable accounts today, it is generally accepted that Spinosaurus was larger than T-rex in height, weight, and length.
@Orangethemartian Жыл бұрын
@@DinoBasicsdidn’t you say it should be “T. Rex”?
@DinoBasics Жыл бұрын
@@Orangethemartian I never said that, but if you want to be technical, T.rex is more grammatically accurate, but T-rex is still acceptable as a colloquial term
