I'm an "old fart" and hard to impress when it comes to contemporary country music. In my mind, a truly astounding song/group comes along about every two years. This song falls solidly at the top of my "astounding" category. Bravo!

So I knew this song was about a breakup but it’s actually gotten me through the silence in my house and how miserable this deployment has been for me. Thank you for this song. It’s absolutely beautiful.

When my son left at 18 for boot camp, this song really resonated with me. I cried nearly every time I heard it, thinking of my son.

Their performance of this song at The Hamilton in DC on May 16 was truly amazing. Haunting sound, raw emotion. In a word: perfect.

My daughter was stillborn 18 months ago. At 36 weeks. And this song brought me to tears. I never thought I would be yearning to hear her cry. There's no peace in my quiet. And I miss her every single day. I know this was written about a breakup. But these words mean so much more to me.

This song always hits me and brings back the feeling I had when I sent my husband out of state with our son. We were not safe or happy. We met up later but each day without them was an agony.

Miss Elizabeth, you are what angels dream of sweetheart. Never forget that! Been working on music for 20+ years now, and I'm stuck in an awe that no words hold justice towards... Now, excuse me while I go endulge more on my new crush... 😘

I'd never heard of Delta Rae before my niece (who is a killer vocalist and rhythm guitarist) put this song in the playlist for our annual get-together. I am also a rhythm guitarist, and this song was an absolute epiphany to me. My niece totally nailed it in our nightly "concerts" and I was happy to add my backup parts. Great song!

Heard this whilst outside a coffee house in Skagen, Denmark. Googled it and now can't stop playing it. Pure simplicity in the words and beauty in the harmonies. So under rated and so mesmerising.

I lost my husband unexpectedly about 9 months ago--this may have been written for a breakup, but it is killing me how well it hits my heartbreak too. Not up to dancing in the graveyard yet (even if that video led me here.)

I am so happy that my brother told me about this video. I had no idea that it was the younger brother who wrote the song and that it is his personal story. The video is as beautiful as the song is. I didn't think that I could love it any more than an already did.

Whoo! Having been through similar situations in my own life, this song describes the experience so well, it triggered memories, both pleasant and painful, of past relationships, some ended similarly to the writer's and others ended when my loved one died, but this song is relatable to all those experiences.
